Grand Finale in Perth

My car and pc will get transported to Sydney first. So no more online till I get my butt there.
Tosani and Diana came over this afternoon with KFC. Fingers sure licking good with original pieces of chook. Di was sweet to offer me a lift to the airport this Sat. To. suggested to have a farewell lunch prior leaving. No doubt I just got to know them, I am certainly touched by their sincerity. Esp Di, I feel that I owe her a big time again.
Isn't it nice to know which friends cares about me or not on my departure?

I was extremely busy today with the packing and errands. To make sure that my housemates would have something to eat, I purposely made a trip to supermarket and cooked dinner for them. I don't mind not charging them for anything and if only they could just shut their mouths just to comment that I got lots of clothes, lots of shoes. It is starting to annoy my ears every now and then. Why? Because it is a constant remark on me. It's so constant that it's putting me off.

Maybe they are suffering from some sour grape syndrome. Sometime being nice doesn't pay......Maybe I should be stone hearted... Also, I got a friend of mine who appears to have always 'hear' wrongly of the things I said. Is either she needs to drain out her impacted ear wax or I have to attend a speech therapy course. I can't stand it when people just don't listen -attentive enough.

Going dinner with Anna and Kel this Friday night. And my ex patient is soo nice to give me a lift to work on Friday. Whee!! *clap clap*

Too tired to continue blogging..... next blog will be from Sydney

How?

My soon to be boss from Sydney rang me and check if I am ready and prepare to go over there for work. Needless to say, I am not overly excited and to me, it's just like moving from house to house. I realise that the boss seems to change his words quite frequently.Initially he offered me to stay at his place (together with his wifey) until I got an accomodation. Now, the table has overturned and he wants me to get a place within the 5 days of stay. At this point, I'm beginning to feel a little queer.Generally, I never feel comfortable to stick with a couple at any situation. VN said his wifey may feel threatened by my chio bu-ness (uhm, pretty?) and that's why she 's probably pretending to whine to husband as to suggest that I need to get out of their house asap. Seriously, I am only interested in earning a decent living and who really cares about her husband.
The idea of snatching her husband is far beyond my intention. Please lor, i rather get a goofy and nerdy dude than him. Morever, I never like men with 'baggage'.(thanks to KH for correcting my grammar and spelling mistakes ;p)
If I am the wifey, don't think I would behave in such a way like her. Then again, KH claimed that I would be like her eventually.*eyes roll up* I used to let my ex bf to do whatever he wants or whoever he goes out with. Really, why worry? He always let me know in advance anyway.

Back on track

Got my PC reformatted and thanks to Di and her bro for their help. To think that I've only know them several weeks and yet they are able to lend me a helping hand without any worries.
I owe them a big time for sure.

Next Sat is the big move and I got so much junks to clear. Si beh sian.......This is the dunno 6th or 7th time I am packing to move within the 5 years in Perth. To also think that I'll be cut off from the virtual world from next thurs makes me more bored stiff. My car will be off to Sydney via train by next Thurs and no more surf surf surf online for at least the next 3 weeks.

More updates later...gonna koon now.

What I saw recently

A granny taxi driver. There is no age limit in terms of when you can stop driving in Western Australia. All the oldies only need to retake a eyesight check and driving test prior renewing their licences. Maybe I should consider taking up the job as taxi driver when i get really old just to earn some cash.Being on pension is just not enough to spend on living.A nice retirement villa already cost about AU 2k a month.

What a sedentary lifestyle on a Saturday. Basically I sleep and eat the whole day. If I wore a pedometer, it would have only show less than 20 steps/day.
Boiled some chicken herbal soup for the housemates and perhaps next weekend, we'll have a yum cha cheesecake session ( it's a trobolone cheesecake made by me of course).

Spoke to Kent on MSN. He claimed that I am a Miss independent with strong character. Aiya how can not be strong when one has to live in overseas for some time. When you're overseas, you learn to be more focused, see things in a bigger pictures, be more patient, learn how to fix or set up electrical applicances, get a good grip on reading road maps, better understanding of your car mechanic problems and learn the art of cooking better food. Hur hur!

But I wish to master the art of changing tyres..... who knows some hunkys need car tyres fixing along the road ;p

"I'm Engaged"

This word constantly keep ringing in my ears recently......

Here are the 'culprits':

Chomp Chomp (a dentist from Melbourne)-finally got to engage the love of his life
CL- a lawyer friend getting hook up with another fellow colleague
Dk- Dr friend who reveals the truth upon my interrogation.
VY- my fav g.f engaging la...since they got the house oreadi
ET- Needless to say, marriage +engagement all at one shot

Better stop here before the list gets longer.

So am i trying to say I am on the panic to hook up with someone? The answer is no. I know where my qualities lie..Self assurance ? Maybe not. It takes a real man with guts to love me for who I am and what I am capable of doing.

Self assessment:
Qualification - 2 BScs
Cooking Skills -checked
Managment skills -checked
Beauty-lies in the eye of beholder
Empathy- as best described (well, most farking guys would actually think I am rather a submissive person instead. Can't you see the difference? Dumb a**)

Why do I have such thinking that it's good to have a nerdy boyfriend so that I wouldn't get much threat from any girls?? Then again, naturally I am attracted to the goofy types..What's wrong with me?

I hate to do this....

I am going back to SG in July for one reason: to attend my best friend's wedding. Firstly, this is my blog and of course I am entitled to release my views and sorrows here rather than being classifed I am bitching against her (let's put her name as EN).
Moreover this would be a bad time to tell the truth while her whole mind is focusing on work and marriage preparation.

EN is one of my best friends. Together with VY, our friendship is as closed as in sistahood. Being friends for more than a decade, our parents knew each other very well and not to mention that we live in the same neighbourhood for years.

EN is currently working in a finance sector for a local bank. She just got started whereby she hopes to acheive a name of her own someday in the banking world. However, she needs to start off by doing sales which simply drives her to high level of stress. That's not the point.
Her soon to be hubby- looks to me a rather well-to-do business man. At least, he is well to do as compared to average household. From my perspective, EN seems to tone down a lot or rather tamed by her fiance. No more happy go lucky EN. She just refused to say much about her inner feelings when asked. I am not sure how much she appreciates that I am returning back to SG just for her wedding. My mom thinks i am nuts plus I have just gone back to SG last March.EN did breifly mentioned that if I am not going back for her wedding, that would probably mark the end of friendship. Am i suppose to take this as a joke or threat?
It really amazes me that all it takes is someone whom she knows for a year to change her personality and characters.

Communication: We try to talk on emails but her reply was always a few sentences. It seems that she lacks of interest to read or reply. Either way which doesn't bothers me. I reckon on the long run, I may give it up on her.It will be too exhausting too keep it up. At least VY emailed and gave me a general ideal of what's happening in her life. And that is what I call communicating.

Now my plan is going to SG and work again. At least for my flight money which I've paid in AU.

In addition, self-sponsored bride's maid dress and shoes need bling too!

"ohh that looks beautiful........."

Yesterday was my last day working in a nursing home. I wore this black punky belt with bullet-punched holes with my brown pants and Esprit white polo tee. Seems all my oldies love it!
I didn't know they would like this sort of uhm- fashion. Pretty surprising indeed. Even one grandma raised up her thumb and agreed with my fashion statement. Couldn't help but I grinned to myself.

Later on, moving to Room 25, this granny asked me:" So do you have a boyfriend?" (know what, this question is soo hot that it became the top of my list for questions asked by grannies/oldies).
I nodded my head and replied :" nope". Grannie replied:" such a shame. I think you are a very pretty lady."
Me:" nah, no one wants me probably (with a humble tone)."
Grannie: " yes, I would think you are a very pretty lady."
I just smiled at her and said :" Thanks Mrs O for your lovely comments. Maybe someday.....have a nice day ahead anyway.."

Went to change one of my car tyres and that goes my Ka-ching! Boss rang yesterday and he just wanna make sure that I am confirming to go to Sydney ;p

Fruitful Saturday Not

As usual, when it's not a working day, I tend to sleep in a bit more till 10am. After finished washing up, had my late breakfast and logged online. Geez, certainly I need more life than that. Saw FF (another fellow blogger) online and she told me her main attraction is drinking hoegarden. Next Eliza was online for a short while. I decided to intro Eliza to Gene via MSN ;p
The outcome was ok which at least, both of them are able to talk without any hindrance or I should say with my presence. I should get a private matchmaker company registered as my weekend business. After all, staring the feet all weekdays can get quite bored. Hurhur!
Potential match making business in Singapore? Possibility is there. After all, the SDU can't be the only one handle all da singles population.

Don't know why I am just enjoying myself introducing friends to one another. However I have absolutely no intention of hoping friends to get hook up with one another eventually. In simple terms, I am just helping to widen the social circle aspect. Morever, I don't see it as a bad thing after all.

Supposed to go out with Pip and a bunch of aussie dudes but it was cancelled at the last min. Instead, I went out with Kelvin doing power walk (meaning "walking fast") for about an hour plus at the South Perth Park. On the contrary, I had a nice but fattening DIY pancakes for dinner.Maybe I should do more power walk tomorrow or else I am gonna be a fat bridesmaid in June.

TV sux tonight with the English Royal wedding on almost every channel. Give me a break......... that leaves me no choice but to stay online.

FISH

While I was driving along the road, the thought of Yu-ming (fish -his nick) came across my mind. Yu ming was studying dentistry in Arizona right about the same time when I came over to Perth for podiatry study. We used to talk quite a lot online where he even helped me to look for a good anatomy website as my anatomy did sux at that time. Almost every christmas, I'll be at his place for christmas celebration. We , of course, can't take our hands off majong session. I do missed him as my very dear friend. I believe if he is still alive today, we would still be very good friends. Just spoken to Naomi and hopefully she can find out where yuming's tomb is. I just know that I need to pay him a visit in anyway possible when I am back in SG at the end of June.

Shan2 just got an email add for me. It was an email belong to a long lost friend of mine. Just realised that he is working together in the same department with Shan2. I am contemplating whether to email him or not. We used to be quite good friends..... Yeap we did went out but I haven't had the slighest idea that he had a g.f at that time. Neither nor I was interested in knowing. His g.f found out that we plus another friend had a farewell dinner (prior leaving australia at that time ), she was fuming and threatening to break off with my friend. Ever since, our friendship just 'died'.
This is probably where I developed the phobia of going out with guys who didn't tell me about their girlfriends' existence. And therefore, I always insist the guys to let their g.fs know if he is coming out with me. This is all being open and honest in a relationship and also not forgetting to treat each other with respect. Likewise, if my (future) b.f wants to go with some girl pals, that's fine as long as he tells me about it. I always believe if you really like that person, you gotta set him free without worries.

Crossed

One of my vietnamese friends is getting married on the day which I'll be leaving for Sydney. I feel really bad if I can't attend his wedding. He has been a great help especially during my uni days. I am so crossed in the sense that should I pay extra money to change the flight?*sigh*
I supposed he would feel disappointed coz I know if it's my wedding, I would feel the same too.

Spent the whole day running errands: Got my street directory of Sydney (it's a big big place with many suburbs), sorted out my flight to Singapore at the end of June, bought some chinese herbal stuffs, and more to come...have to book for car service, change my car tyres, and buying another ticket from Sydney to Perth...

I intend to colour my hair..black. Wanna stay original on my hair colour which I;ve decided ;>

Happiness

Happiness means be able to spend good quality time with friends and family ; Driving at 110km/hr along deserted road and sightsee at the same time;Listening to Retro and dance my heart out; Seeing my patients getting better or at least making an improvement on their conditions after treatment; Cuddling a dog; Reading any books by Nicholas Sparks; Running - it always have been part of me; Receiving cheques; Having my pimples reduced on my cheeks; Doing facial/massage; Being online; Having successful sellout of stuffs on ebay; Shoe shopping; Having a good o' pint of Stella Aortis or Hoegarden; Rattling rubbish with my msn pals...

Right now I am talking to Kurdt - a current 5th year medical student who just showed me his ciao mugging pic; Shan - in her early 20s who is sending me a korean song called gentle rain; Kaisheng - who is on-call at a hospital in the west is chit chatting with 4 people at the same time and that's amazing what kind of shift he is getting.

So what does happiness means to U?

Sunday's treat

Was raining heavily on Friday night but the girls still decided to go Harbourtown for late night shopping. Guilty me cannot resists buying 5 tops for less than 20 bucks. Good deal hey. I know I shouldn't buy so much stuffs as I am relocating pretty soon. Sigh*
Saturday was so bored as usual. Weather was not that fantastic till Cara sms-ed me to ask if I wanna go Relay for life to volunteer as a podiatrist to treat people's sore feet after the runs. Relay for life is an annual event whereby people just keep running continuously for 24 hours (of course, they take turns to do that) on track as part of fundraising on cancer foundation.
Massage and facial are sunday's treat. But this China aunty really can massage very hard on my body and till now, I am still aching all over. I never felt so much that I had to endure that high level of pain.

Met some of my classmates earlier on at a pub. The strange thing is...only one person orders a coke and the rest are not drinking. I do feel like buying a pint and then again, what's the point of buying it since the rest looks as if they are on some 'financial burden'. Whatever, that generally turns me off from buying any drinks which I rather to drink my Fosters at home. I can't also imagine how contented my classmates can be by working nurses homes and senior citizens. I would say they are the worst jobs - it kinda screw up your back on long run with too much bending down and reaching their toes...grrr.

Freda's aunty was nice to speak to me about tips leaving in Sydney and car transport matters. Indirectly that reminds me of a g.f of mine who can't forget about G. I hope Ah Jxx will be strong and move on. It's better off this way than having yourself trapped on some shameless dudes. Tell me where is that brain-washed machine.......

Daily grinder(s)

Went to Northam today with Pip to work at a nursing home. *EEKS* No, I don't feel any excitment working in palliative area. That's why I've bought a ticket to Sydney and planned to relocate in May to work for a friend's private practice. Not sure why but I am not particularly over-excited as compared to the first time I arrived in Perth. There are still a number of things that I have to do prior moving though.

Sub-grinders:

1) Knn that Dark- blue Lancer Asian driver who deliberately blocked my view that I can't turn my car on the right. Oh did I mention that he is from Curtin Uni.

2) This elderly folk refused to let me cut her nails on her left foot after I managed her right one. Fine by me......plus she tried to hit me! Violent grandma on the alert mode....

3) Rea from Hungary was soo sweet. She bought me a ultra sexy rose pink top from MNG.Plus it was sent via registered post as a prezzie for my b'day. ;p VN also sent me a sexy top from SUPRE with lotsa glitter beads on the v-neck halter. If only my perfect accessory is Mr 'Hunky' to go along. Don't think if it ever exists in the first place.

4) JT has been really encouraging and totally supporting my decision to Syd over da email. So sweet of him..... VN can't wait for me to get my butt to eastern side. Vien also agreed with the moving for the reason being work exposure.

Suddenly the thought of having char kway tiao and satay come into my mind..... i miss home!

Easter Vigil

Long easter break in Perth = higher chance of becoming a couched potato. This dullsillive is getting on my nerves. Like what my dentist g.f said, move over to the Eastern state where all the actions are. Went over to D's place to play dia dee and was great to see Wei/Tos playing it well. Slacked the whole of Saturday except did some readings on foot journals. Then again, that wasn't really ..uhm..happening. Just came back from a cycling trip and got a few mild bruises induced from F - Miss Bicycle Accident Prone. Learnt my lesson not to stand so close to her just in case the history repeats itself. Guess her temperature must be on the rise if she ever reads this. It's the truth.

Gonna do a movie marathon (3 movies) tonight with the girls and one dude.1st show will start at 11.30pm and I should be home by 7am. Whoppie! Better off than watching the aussie Teevee which generally sux on weekends and public holiday.

Was chatting with Mr France yesterday. So strange when he typed in his French English like this:" what's wrong with you and the men? You are bubbly, jovial and easy going."
By the way, Mr France is already taken by Slyvie. I chose my reply to be:" Most guys are too coward - to approach or break the ice. I guess something is wrong with them and not me.As far as I know, I am just being..me." From there, Mr France reassured me that the right guy will come along eventually and that goes the same for Kurdt who said exactly the same thing. It's nice to see how my friends are expressing their concerns on me.

Told Pa and Ma about my plans to relocate to Sydney. Not much comments from them except Dad wants me to go back in another year's time. Uhm................we shall see then.

Diana Krall's concert is coming on the 8th April. Should I or not?

Bitc*

I went to the Perth Local Court to submit my forms today. Now all I have to do is to sit back and relax for previous owner to respond. She even has the guts to ask me to wash the carport stains. Hello, I've left the house since 2 months ago. Who knows which TOM, DICK, HARRY parked the car with their engine oil leaking. Morever, doesn't she understand that it's normal to have a bit of oil leak from the car. Indirectly from the engine and perhaps, can be resulted from the cooler that drips onto the engine. What actually piss me off is this under-go training bitc* who missed calling my number and in the end, the person after me actually got ahead of me first. What? Sorry? Thank goodness I didn't get a carpark fine and if not, I'll definitely write a letter of complaint and you can kiss ya job goodbye. Aussie has such a poor standard of being efficient. This observation come from my years of staying in Aust and when it comes to servicing the customers, it's definitely heading the last position.

Perth's weather shot up to 41.9 degree celsius....... So ultimate hot that I didn't even feel like eating lunch. Worked at the women's prison today... Didn't kinda like the place ;(

Am I missing something?

It's been a week since I am back from Singapore. Work has been quite fairly easy and the worst is working in nursing homes. It just somehow makes you reflect that another few more decades down the road, you would probably end up stiffen in bed, suffering from certain level of immobility, leg/s emputated due to lower limb complication or speech difficulty. sigh*
I don't get the challenge and definitely no sense of satisfaction unlike those I've worked in Singapore.

On the miracle side, J rang me and offered me a position in his private practice in Castle Hill, Sydney. Few days later, he rang again and asked if I wanna take over the job at Hospital Hornsby. Well, after staying in Perth for close to 5 years, I reckon it's about time to make a move to greener pasture.

-By the way, Straits time is charging an online subscription! WTF*** Who the hell will do that and now that goes my regular website.

Went on a cycling trip from my place to the city last Sunday. The whole journey took abut 45 mins one way. Weather was absolutely beautiful with cool breeze. While waiting for the rest of the folks for an indian veg buffet, F and myself decided to get an ice-cream. This uncle asked if we are singaporeans and it's always nice to meet the locals overseas. Give us extra toppings with larger scoops ;p The best is he manages a perth budget stay deal. That will come in handy for sure.

More More blogs from Singapore

Recap on last Friday

After meeting Yvoone, all of us took a train down to City hall while Wen went over to Kembangan to meet her friends. Vone and myself are supposed to meet a group of healthcare worker. Anyway, we met up and had dinner at BakersInn. It was great catching up with everyone and especially Shanshan. However, shan2 had to rush off for her night duty at SGH. Nevertheless, we finally met!Had a good chat with Edwin, Shan and Azmi too.
It was 9pm that we had to depart coz vone and myself gotta meet another group of my g.fs+partners+more friends at Balaclava. I think I am totally underdressed. Not saying that I am in my knickers but the dressing for that day looks totally casual and unglamour.Just think that I am wearing this Esprit white tank top with a seablue chequered skirt and mesh sequine white slip ons.Oh, and a simple pony tail...
Fantastic time dunking hoegarden with all da friends (around more than 10 of them)...Met up with D as well with his mates. Got introduced to J .It was quite surprising to see J coz i used to work with him in the same hospital ages ago. Vone treated me burbeon coke and topshell-VERY YUMMY. After makaning , we move on to get a place to stand. As you can tell how popular bala is.Happened tat J is around so basically we just started rattling rubbish about operating theatres and anasthesia.

Later on, one big fat ugly angmog( much guessed as a British from his accent) asked if I want a drink. I declined his offer politely. The next thing is he started raising his voice like this :" come on! what's wrong!?"Obviously, I was almost being irritated to the max so I held onto J's arm and hopefully he will leave me alone. But no, he went on and yelled:" oh that's your g.f, you should give her a big kiss!." I rolled up my eyes for a moment. What an idoitic pig headed man. Hugged J and D as they are leaving Bala. Went back to look for my friends and met up with Eugene who gave me $50 bucks cash as my b'day pressie. "go get yourself a nice dress"-that's what he said.Whoopie! Annie was being plain naughty that she used my phone to sms my ex. Anyway, don't think he would ever find out. So what if he did...

Went to a church wedding on Saturday- my last day in Singapore. Was honoured to spend it with Naomi. Haven't seen this friend of mine who met her husband at a special school education teacher. She can ever be so patience towards the disabled ppl. Saw their personal lives video prior ceremony....it was really amazing to witness how two different human beings are able to merge their lives into one.
Spent the rest of the night resting and getting ready to depart for Perth again.
