What a spinning day. First thing in the morning, i turned up at the wrong placement. Thanks to the AM who coordinate such an effective timetable (or rather should i say, too confusing to read). Next, the address given on the book where i'm supposed to be was the wrong one! God damned it! Firstly, went to Deanmore kindy and then got directed by a lady to the primary school situated across the kindy. When I got there, I was told by the lady that I came to the wrong place.Need to drive a couple of more streets down plus 2 more turnings>*FREAK*.
So managed to find the place without much hassel. The thing is..which one is it? There is one kindy and another pre-school.
This is absolutely absurb.
ANd obviously, I was late for an hour. Then again, I had a fair share of fun taking plaster cast on the kiddos! They just brighten up my day and drove away all the cranky mornings. While the pod students are given a chance to practise casting, the molded casts are supposed to be punched a hole at the heel and attached a tag of that child's name. The kindy came up an excellent idea to get the kids to present their molded foot for the coming Father's day.

Finally, I've booked my ticket to brisbane but it has gone up extra 40 bucks for the GOING TO trip.*hit. should have book it earlier on. Went to fetch J to reality estate to pay her rent plus signing some documents.Waited so long for the receptionist to write a receipt. Gosh* how efficient is that.
Went back home and had a cuppa tea. Arranged with V to see my car but was cancelled the last minute.2 hours later, went out again for my physio appointment. Was driving halfway, my phone rang.It was H! How nice of him to call and catch up with me. He's really a nice podiatrist friend of mine. More on the good news....he's offering me to work on Tue for him in his private practice!!!! Arrghhh* screams*
However, i told him that we shall have a good chat after I come back from brisbane then.
At the physio dept, had a new physio student assessing me. The amusing part is ..this student had been a podiatrist for 15 years and now decided to "upgrade" his skills to learn about Upper body.heh.
And after that, was going with J to american funk dance class..which is cool.learning how to move ya hips and legs. The down side is..too expensive. 16.50 per session.
Anyhow, back to work!
EEKS*
Busy monday for me. I've been trying to keep myself fit (hate to use the sentence "shed off extra kilos") by walking to uni today. Zap a bit of stuffs on Diabetes as my case study that must come with literature based. Haven't had any luck to find anything on that Scottish Tutor's assignment.--->eeks*
Read another article but has yet to be summarize and type it on an handout for all in the class.
And about business plan.*gosh* god knows how to get started.Need to e-mail the past graduates and asked for sample copies.
Need to present a video gait analysis as an orthopaedic case study and the time has been arranged with the patient in a few weeks'time.
Reseach, need more footprints by this friday. So that we can take down the measures on the footprints and write out the hypothesis and key those data in the SPSS software. Then again, may need to meet the statistician prior to that.
*gosh* i feel that I'm lost in the wheel of uni workload.
On the brighter side, i'm going to brisbane to clear my head a bit.

Recently I have been keeping in touch with this podiatrist from South California.I find that his e-mails are always so entertaining. What can i say? I'm trying to keep up with my pals from virtualtourist too.

Ahh this is not good.Didn't do enough work except for some readings. Played basketball in the morning which was good. The fact is that we lost to the opposing time in the last game and we managed to come back with a vegenace. On the lighter note, we managed to get into the final round! This is sooo exciting!!
Slept most of the time in the afternoon, updating my virtual tourist page and I'm flying off to brisbane next week!Coming back after next saturday with the next day, I gotta wake up real early for "city to surf'" An annual marathon event for fund raising for the kids in perth. So the podiatry tent will be set up at the finishing line while the fellow pods and I would provide emergency foot care to the athletes then.

Assignments! I need to get them started...the problem is ...finding relevant articles...*BAH*

I'm so packed with everyday's stuffs. Tonnes of assignements and research are waiting for me on the table. Had my clinical placement today and the podiatrist in charge was impressed by my debridement skills. Whee! Hopefully that would be a big score on my record sheet. Sometime i just wish that i got more time to read de articles and journals.NOt sure how am i beng able to squeeze in the time. There is always marketing to do, laundry in the basket, exercising program....and the list goes on.
Someone recalled my Diabetes BOOK> damned! Bust that fellow.I only had the book for only a week.

Recently, I was corresponding with a podiatrist from South California. He's really a remarkable person who actually put most of his time on setting up anti crime anti drugs campaigns. www.drfootsie.org
The bonous is, he was my tutor's cyber friend for a couple of years! Cool......

more whine...i need to start doing my "actual" work!
can someone give me a push??

Met C and her Mom last night. Went to Casino@Bursewood and followed by coffee session @ Oriels. I really enjoyed the mother and daughter company indeed. At least, I'll not feel so "left out" in perth. Back to uni today. Everyone looked so tired in the class.I bet most of them hasn't recovered from last sat's ball. I was a bit of "zombie" when I walked into the class today. Alan, my tutor for business unit , commented that " you're not a morning person aren't you?!"..."are you doing your moonwalking?" Bah*
Pa called. He was thinking of coming with Ma during my term break. Hmm..then again, I would prefer them to come on my graduation next year (i hope!).Hence, he can save the money for something else.
I'm gonna meet the JP tomorrow and get the documents to be signed.
Keeping fingers crossed...double crossed.Ouch*

Sunday, August 10, 2003

I've been really busy for the past one week.Uni workload is gradually buliding up on top of my head. Other of the days i'm having placement at the hospital and on the other hand, trying to make an appointment to meet the justice of peace(JP) for signing of my documents of Permanent residency application. Phew* And again, the JP has missed out a few more documents so i got to get back to her next Tue.
What's more, the research is conducted mid way through. Still got 15 more set of footprints to take and next, my partners and i would have to measure it and key in the data and come up with a analysis statement. bah*
C and her mom are here in Perth.heh, the thing is I've never seen C before and we had an enjoyable kopi session@Oriels on the night of their first visit to perth. What did we have..hmm..this large piece of Malteses Madness with cream at the side,an anzac cookie and a huge bowl of Shoe string fries. It was simply fantastic. It seemed like we knew each other for ages and trying to catch up as much as we could.C and her mom leaving on next mon so I wouldn't be able to see them off.
It's funny how we often complain that our holis doesn't coincide or we might never meet at all. :P
The pod ball was on last night. Had a whale of time. Danced with a couple of "ang moh" dudes. Guess they just wanna get close to me *eeks* It's a bit hard to shake my bon bon in my white silvery full length cheongsum.
Hmph*
Can't go on rattling anymore..work time!

My matchmaking business is going up.*wink* I was trying to intro CL (a lawyer g.f of mine) to JT via ICQ. It's irony to answer both sides of the questions on opposite party. Then again, I'm absolutely fine with that. On the down side is, CL is an agnoist while JT is a catholic. Perhaps, talking about accepting oneself and religion is a bit too early here. BUt. it's good to see the start of friendship..yay*
I'm still trying to get my PR thingy done...just had to keep fingers crossed that i don't screw up.I;m repeating myself again.paradnoid i guess.
Went for grocery in the morning and tried to refrain myself from buying too much.Neither am i a glutton.Sometimes u just wonder the food" may come handy in time plus, $ limtation factor.
On the contratry, received a mail from the taxation office.HOORAY** i got a sum of 4 digits rebate! I'm soOOOOOOo
happy!!!!!Just when thought i was going to be poor.....So grocery shouldn't be much of a problem next week!

In addition, I enjoy surfing Virtualtourist website and came across this webpage put up by the nick of Geisha Girl. She acutally also added a column on "Are you my boyfriend?"
This is so *ucking true. CC is causing a lot of disturbance" on my mind. I'm not attracted by him in any way. Ok, the gist of the story is...he talks too much about himself and i felt like his therapist in session. I've not had the intention to tell him yet but someday I will. According to the GG website, he belongs to the "Everything I say is Fascinating guy"
http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/tt/2f717/#TL
oh well, I reckon the thrill and excitment is over.Guess he prob looking around for other target.
What the?

Not really a fufilling weekend I must say. Played basketball on saturday as usual and this time round, we beat the other team (Claremont) 15-10. Yeah, it is quite a tough game indeed. Received 2 e-mails which kinda surprised me. One is a podiatrist from South Carolina. He claimed that he had stumbled my name on the net and wanted to share of what he do with his profession. In fact, he had set up a non profitable organization against youth crimes and drugs. So he did was to create foot cartoon characters to educate the youths and so on.

website: www.footsie.org

I guess everyone has a dream to pursue in one's life. And this is his..not only being a podiatrist. And of course, I've ever hope that I'll be able to provide footcare treatment to the poverish places like vietnam. In other words, I have to work a lot harder in order to achieve my dream.Or even providing shoes to the kids of the poor...sounds not a bad idea after all.
The other e-mail came from my friend's husband. He wanted to know what is the name of the resturant that I've mentioned to my friend before. He just wanted to give his wife a nice surprise b'day dinner.orrr! heart melts*
Ms Zena is coming! Whee! This is so exciting as my first time meeting her. At least, something to look forward to next week.

This semester may seems to be the last but it's a lot hectic as compared to the whole 3 years of studying. 6 assignments waiting for me to be done in 3months time. 2 major papers at the end of semester that practically sum up the whole of 3yrs of studying. Can i do it in just 3 months time? *ponder*
I just can't give up easily.....since I';ve come so far ahead.
Dad has been calling me more often.Perhaps he just feel the emptiness of the house especially when my brother went into army since last week. So, i think dad was trying to tell me over the phone that "i should start finding a boyfriend once i graduate". WoWO. Can't believe it my dad is more worried than I am.
HURHUR!
Mom, as usual, is always on the constant worry for my bro's adaptation in army life.
Sent my car for servicing today.Nothing spectacular. Baked some honeycomb choc muffins.
YUM*

Wish that my blog has a tag board.....bummer*
No placements this week.wonderful..which means i can catch up with my stuffs (PR thingy again), getting my work organised, need to start to think abt my case study.Wanted to do some T-Bo workout this evening but the class apparently starts only next week.
I need to work fast! *sign* I;m not gifted unlike others. I got a couple of classmates who seldom attend the class and yet they still could move on.
Plus, there has been lotsa controversial issues g0ing on in the school of podiatry. The oldest podiatry school in London has closed and so does another one in california. It feels as though podiatry service is not being recognised anymore and thus gradually fading away.
Good on the rest of other health professionals. They will probably end up having more patients workload, having inadequate patient education on lower limbs, longer appointment times, indirectly affect pt's well being+psychosocial aspect factors. Those with foot ulcers would most probably end up with amputations if only something can be done earlier (eg, prevention?). "Curse" on those who agreed on abolishing the course.

People are not gonna walk happily in near future.

I;ll DEFINTELY write more tomorrow.....suffering from some mental block
First day of uni.Pretty hectic.Got all de unit outlines and freaking loads of assignments coming up. I;ll have 2 major exams by the end of year. keeping fingers crossed on that first* What a long day. Started off at 9am this morning. Lunch break was having McDonald's with Joe and Paul. And since we got like another 2 hours to spare. Joe thought it might be a good idea to go to his place and catch this VCD on howard the duck. Back to uni for a c0uple of classes.Hanged around the reception plus catching up with the clerks, T and B. B got married this June and showed me her lovely wedding pics. I gave B a set of matching Pearls jewellery as her wedding gift. Thanks to mom's idea.
Oh, i didn't realised that my pic taken with another podiatrist in Changi hospital appeared on Australian Podiatry Association monthly update journals. The article is simply about what's going with the graduate working overseas bah bah and what kind of work.,,bah bah.
So that was real cool.
Evening clinic was alright. I think I just had to learn to work with that "hyperthryodism looked- alike" podiatrist.
yeah, especially his eyes, almost bulging out of the ocular area.HOwever, i was quite pleased that i did well on my analyzes today on this 13 year old girl with limb length descrepancy. When i was about to commence my treatment, i found out that she has shoes which were like almost 2 sizes larger! Probably the muscles on the leg has to work a lot harder to support the footwear instead! tsk tsk* something which the tutor didn't realise till i pointed out to him.So send her back, and remake another appointment for orthotics plus advising that she needs real fitted shoes.
My bruise on my left knee is getting larger than ever.
Spoke to de hyperthryoid dr and he may performing acupuncture on me.

Saturday, July 26, 2003

Had a hangover this morning.Drank the whole bottle of white semillion myself because I'm done with my exam paper.Yay*
Did some shopping this afternoon and went on to play basketball. Now my medial aspect of left knee is bruising so badly. Can;t be help by playing with some big fatty chicks.
Oh well, gotta work tomorrow to cover for the coming expenses. Brother went to national service and now left my parents alone in singapore.
Heard from Mom that my cousin's grandma passed away recently.I;m quite upset about the news :( Every year i;ll follow my cousins to Muar in malaysia for the chinese new year. This new year was no exception. She showed me her edmatous ankles and wondered if i can do anything about it. She showed me her antidiuretic and asprin tablets.Plus, she's constantly found it hard to breathe when lying flat. Obviously the worst scenerio i can think of her having pulmonary edema.i did not expect her to leave so quick.
So next year i guess it would be a different sort of atmosphere for the new year.

Revison continues...Why must people be bad? Why can't they be good? Sometimes i wish i've had this enormous power to help change de "bad" genes into good. Bad people always upset me.... Would they please stay away from me too?

In addition, my hsemate, D cooked me a nice pasta dinner.Very thoughtful indeed.Certainly brightens up my day :)
J kept asking me to rent his house coz by the end of yr, he's moving with his wife to New Zeland. Yeah, that's where his family planning starts too. Well, my plan is to work here for a year before going over to eastern state for another year? perhaps...
God knows plans might change if there's a signigicant other pop out along the way.

Tuesday, July 22, 2003

My placement starts today at a local hospital, which is like only 5 mins drive from my house. Frankly speaking, I enjoy what i'm doing as a profession. The only ppl who can make me happy are my patients. For instance, this 85 year old lady was jumping with joy to see her thickened hard nails being tidy and indeed, "it makes me feel like a brand new person" as stated by her. Seeing patients getting their required treatments with positive outcomes makes me feel great. This simply takes off my mind for a moment that I was living in a nutshell.
On the contrary, dad is worried that i'm too lonely living in Down Under. Most girls around my age are either committed in a relationship with their significant other or even married. I've ever hoped that I would love to marry to someone I adored and have kids before the age of 30. well, doesn't seemed it's gonna come true. Most of my g.fs have had placed the bet on me for being the 1st to marry...what can i say? If I lose the bet, the treat of a luxurious spa plus staying in a high class hotel with premium services would be on me.
I'm beginning to lose the faith in men........phobia, fears, daunted pasts............

Monday, July 21, 2003

Had a busy monday.Went to Post to collect my medical examinatio mail and sent a stack to postcards to VN in melbourne. Did my grocery shopping.*sign* havenn't got much chance to do some cardiovascular workout. Putting myself into some detox diet now..*as if i know a lot* well, just to sound a little better. Gotta be my best before the ball comes next month! then again, what's the point going without a date. I have been dateless for ages........ Went to uni in the afternoon to meet de lecturer abt the upcoming exam this fri.* keeping fingers crossed*

Just another entry for today. Mr CC has been calling me almost everyday when i was in adelaide. Apparently, he had an "unhappy" past on failed relationship and some female species played on him before. So,I felt being manipulated. Yes,it is understandable that he can get quite bored working in rural area on weekdays and probably, that's why he called for chats most of the time. It's fine by me in that manner. However, if someone wants to be my friend, then he or she ought to show some sincerity at least. There shld be a basic level of respect and understanding in between friends. I felt that he was not interested in whatever i say and indeed, there isn;t any chance for me to express my thoughts and let alone talking about myself. Frankly speaking, most of the conversations is about him him him and me asking questions abt him. On the contrary, I'm being too nice.........which is the weakest point of myself and i simply hate it. kindness doesn't pay at all.
I may be bored here in down under.Guess i have learnt to accustom my boredom. I have done lotsa things which I;ve enjoyed and yet there are many friends out there who doesn't know a single thing abt it. It's not that i felt ashamed of what I've done or perhaps certain friends may find it hard to believe.Tell me who would believe that I enjoy visiting my elderly folks next door and have a cuppa with them, who would actually believe i volunterred as a zookeeper before...........etc.

Back from a 6 days trip in Adelaide.Fantastic brillant scenic place i must say. Was with 2 other mates (naomi and Kent) from brissy. We walked a lot around the city areas for the first 2 days like visiting the museums, art gallery, uni of adelaide, convention centre and so on. Since we are staying at YHA, we can actually make our dinner at the common kitchen.Pasta was de menu on that night. For the next few days was visiting the winery at Barossa valley and Little German village called hahndorf. Most of the travellers on this trip are from singapore. Then again, my mates and I enjoyed sticking with this Canadian couple. Apparently, this lovely couple had to sit for about 21 hrs of flight before touching down in australia. We chatted a lot about each other's cultures and their experiences in the places which they've visited. The following day we headed down to kangeroo island- 7 times as big as singapore.Pretty full on trip which started from 6.30am till 10yish at night. Need to take 2 hrs of drive to harbour plus 45mins of ferry transport. Too many things to see on that island.Excellent place for retirement too :P
All of us did our shopping at the bargain factory outlet stores. Visited the Genelg beach via trams. And also took a cruise to see dolphin watching.how nice can that be! Naomi , kent and myself became alcoholics for the past few days of the trips. Can't believe we went to woolies liqour shop for 4 days in a row to "drown" ourselves at night. The fact is that there's nothing much to do at night either. In total, we had like 2 bottles of red, one champagne, 4 bottles vodka cruiser, one can of UDL, 2 bottles of cooper beers....*burp*

Saturday, July 12, 2003

W finally left my house today. W was kinda into an "unstable" mood. We went to Lama Bar yesterday night for a drink. Supposedly to meet her b.f , J there too. Initally, J called W said give him a call when the girls were there. To cut long story short, I was told by W that J cannot make it as he was really tired. Then again, J confessed to W that he can't wait to see her even though he was tired in the earlier phone conversation. What can i say? Obviously, W was really mad..and drank 4 glasses of red wine within 3 hours. Sure enough, she puked along the way a couple of times on our way home.
I didn't tell her that she vomitted on my car door.yes, i just have to do all the cleaning up after that.
In my mind was thinking, why is she making life so difficult for herself? she should jolly know well enough that she's dating a big business man.
What i wasn't understand is that I've told W to make a hotel reservation last week so that she can get to stay a night before flying off the next day.I can;t accomodate her till she leaves coz I'm flying off to adelaide on the same departure day as her. Why can't she be more proactive? just booked it....and her b.f apparently is keen on staying at Hyatt with her. Ironically, he finds it too expensive just to stay a night. see the contradiction. So W gotta make find a place for her lodging tonight no matter wot. Tried most of the hotels in the city but they are fully booked.
Mentally tortous i must say. Putting on extra stress for nothing if she could heed my advice earlier on.
I can't say much to her so i just do what i can and that's it.

4 mins to go before my internet connection goes dead.
Had a crappy day at the clinic. a pt's daughter wanna see my feet whether have i actually maintained it or not. Then she started asking like "douch you apply nail polish"...from this moment, i was really pushing myself trying to be as nice as possible....I could have blown my top away in fact.
Sent my g.f to a health club before that...so that gave me some space to do things i wanted.
Guys have warned me about being overly independence......guess maybe i've not learnt my lesson well enough...
because of this, KC was chased off.....don't who's next..
Talking about BGR dampens my feelings....maybe my feelings for a guy doesn't exist anymore..
I;m afraid i can;t learn to love a person...even though he may be standing right in front of me.
....................
To further contradict myself, what is life without love?
