Nail spicules

Don't know how on earth a person gets such such thick nails and I had such a hard time pulling those nails out today. "wow, that's a huge piece of nail coming off."Sadist me.Geez, I should have taken those pics of nail spicules! Damn..now I gotta wait for the next 'victim' to come along.

The other stuffs I always enjoy debriding neuropathic ulcers till they bleed and yet patients are still happily sitting on the chair due to lack of sensation on feet.

Got a mail from an ex-pt of mine from Perth saying that they are doing fine..bah bah. As you see, my car licence is registered with their home address. Because each state of Australia carries their own licence card, unless I decided to covert to New south wales, I just stick the one from Perth. Than again, I do not have a permanent home in Perth, so the follks were nice to help me out on that.

"Oz telecom sux" -that's tomorrow.

Car park fight

Ok, it's not really a fight. Rather while I was coming out of the parking slot, there was a car(the Magna) on my left signalling while waiting for me come out. The Nissan petrol on my right was waiting for me to get out of the slot obviously. The drama started once I get out of the slot, the Nissan went right into my slot. Leaving the poor Magna signalling and waiting for nothing. Magna was beeping loudly and I bet the driver in the car must be cursing and swearing at that Nissan driver for being stealing the lot.
So I did not witness any physical fight at all. Such a shame.HEE.

*****
Go the Sydney Swans! Sigh* West Coast Eagles could have won by just another kick though.

CCB accountant (Beng-yish blog)

Feel like a chao ah huay today. The reason is because I am so piss with that KNNCCB accountant. I hope he better write a good piece of itemised details that has been charged on my fees. KNN tell me over the phone that:" I charged 150 an hour."
WTF? I've done most of the work, u made mistakes on my net income avenue, and bloody charge me like AU$1350. You mean you took 10 hours plus to do my tax return. I don't believe it. I'm paying you to check through my work and not the other way around. More importantly, I am *ucking piss that I could have end up paying more tax if I don't check it through.
Long term managment plan:

Complaint to be made to: (if the letter is not justisfied)
1) tax agent board
2) Insitute of Charactered Accountant
3) Office of fair trading

If he ever made me pay those fees, I would hope he will crush and burn into pieces.
He's not being honest with his fees in the first place when I asked for estimate quote. Please lor uncle, if you think u charge 150/hr , I would still go for your service? No you stupid moron.

Let's just say would you pay for a rotten orange for a high price?
He needs a lesson on customer service.

Ever since I come to Oz, I've developed a liking to watch the rugby game.YEAAAAH.
This Saturday,it's between the Sydney Swans and the team from my old home town (perth), West Coast Eagles.
Well, some people said rugby is like a game for animals only. Where got...there are soo many muscular yummy dudes tackling each other for the ball.

I started a new job today at a local hospital...will try to sneak a few pics up next week.

My Dr friend

There are probably hundreds of blogs out there written by various medical professionals. Very unfortunate on my pal, his blog was being discovered by one of his patients and thus, leading to an inquiry by the local health bureau.
That's not the point.
Firstly, what does the definition of blog means? In fact, it's pretty much up to a blogger to decide whether he or she wants is to be frictional with true or untrue substance in it. In other words, the contents in the blog may not be fully evidenced as to what is presented in real life. That's why disclaimers are used by some bloggers because you never know some ultra sensitive nut cases will take your entry for real.
Blog gives me the personal space I needed and to write whatever that's on my mind. I can't totally agree that it is 100% factual to what I've written. Therefore, as for my friend's case, working in a professional is hard enough, all he needs is some private space to vent out his frustrations (come on, we all get angry for a reason!??). Then again, his nutcase ex patient choses to admit that my friend was writing all about him. Seriously, there are probably millions of blogs around the world about bitching about friends, colleagues, systems, workforce......and the list goes on.

Such situations can be quite tacky to handle especially when healthcare regulations/ ethnics may be involved. Whatever it is, I believe the organisations should at least support the staff and try their best to resolve the matter in the most possible way. Sigh* Unfortunately, when customer service seems to be the top priorty, those local organisations would prefer to wipe the ass of nutcases than protecting the staffs.

Castles fantasy

I've never seen a castle in my life. Mainly from the pictures of travel books. The old heritage structure of the buildings fascinates me. Any movies (Lord of the ring, Troy) which involves the scenes on castles would definitely keep my eyes open. It would be lovely to have a wedding reception in a castle and doing the ballroom dancing with the beloved husband after that.I would have a diamond tiara on a 60s hairdo, wearing a white modern victoria era wedding gown (plus fake long eye lashes).

I am dreaming......

I cannot get pregnant because... ...

Day 1: Start of Roaccutane 10mg
Deadline: Till 16th Oct, dose will then increase to 20mg daily.

Seen a dermatologist yesterday and he diagnosed with me with cystic acne (most serious form). *sob* He added on that it was indeed very unfortunate. *holding back my tears*
Every 1 in 5 patients (particularly the females of course) asked me "what has happened to your face??"
Obviously it acne on my face *duh*. Can't be fungal right? If not I'll be scatching myself like a monkey.

**** ****
Most of my clients are elderly folks. There was this couple, in particular, came in one day where they have recently celebrate their 50th anniversary.

During treatment: (names have been changed)

ME:" Mr Barney, your skin on ya feet is really fragile or thin."

MRS Barney looks on hubby:" oh, that's why you can't take joke isn't it because you got such thin skin."

ME: *giggles softly*

MR Barney: *trying to stay cool and calm - or rather, ignoring his wifey's comment.

Job review

After working for a year in Australia, life may not looks greener here as compared to Singapore. Most people would think that I am having a fun time here working and playing. Not exactly true though. Firstly, I got a aussie permanent residency because I wanted to stay here and gained much experiences if possible from various health care settings. Most podiatrists are working as a sub contractor to the clinics which means pods will pay their own tax and superannuations. Therefore each time when I got my pay, I have to 'dump' some money to the taxation office. For instance, let's just say that I am earning $1800 per week, the taxation will absorb $580. Isn't that abit too much?? If you don't pay tax regularly, you will end up paying a lump sum at the end of financial year. My outgoing expenses are mainly involved the rent, flights, car insurance/petrol, assortment of bills, continuing education and family commitment.

In general,
whatever you earn = expenses spent = no gain of $ in your bank.

My 'little' bro is going uni next year and my dad apparently thinks I am rich working here.
So his tuition fees will be on me..no choice. *SOB* If only I open a clinic, that would be a different story.

Ever since coming to Sydney, I haven't even spend a single cent on facial and hair cut. I am beginning to feel real 'ugly'.

Getting into retailed mood

My 100 bucks+ for today go to:

Glasson glitter tops x2 = $15
Belt: $15
Scarf and bag= $12
Shoes = $35
Singlets= $19
Skirt for a friend=$10

It's just one of those days where you feel like spending money to be happy.
More retail tomorrow... ...
Checklist:
1) Long beaded necklaces
2) Tree of Life top
3) mini Cardi

Maybe yes, I am a shopaholic. Besides staying so far from the city, I really don't know where should I go or spend my weekends.
I cooked Madras curry chicken today because I've got so much free time to prepare and cook.
Hopefully, I'll be playing basketball next wed with my former patient and team.

*****
My bro asked me if I have prepared enough $ for his school fees next year. He was asking like 4k a semester. There are like 6 semesters in total.Sigh* Now I know why I can never feel rich in my bank.

Back from Christchurch, NZ

Went over to Christchurch last Wednesday for a mega foot conference. Picked up Marlene early morning at her place so that she can drive my car and sent me off to the airport. Sydney's traffic is shocking. Freaking cars everywhere on the road by the time it got to 7am. I can't afford to take a chance to book for a cab. Just in case I get to meet some kind of super lousy 'middle-eastern look' drivers who don't even know how to get to the airport at all. What's worst, that stupid dude charged me 100bucks for the cab fare *middle finger*.

Back on Christchurch, the whole place looks like a big English town. Most of the time I spent on walking everywhere there. I guess I found another place perfect for retirement ;p while the first choice would be still Perth. There wasn't many malls to go to (which is a good thing) and basically I would just venture in places like Botanic garden, Museum, arts centre, soveniur shops and a shop full of used clothings. Oh I bought quite a nice wool chequered skirt with pleats for only 14 bucks plus Made in Edinburg somemore.Sounds quite boring? Well, most of the nights I was resting early. No mates to go for a drink anyway ;( The hotel which I stayed at provides daily breakfast. The hosts are very lovely people. Even got me a bag of breakfast goodies just before I leave for an early flight at 6am the next day.

At the conference itself, the most appealing part would be the trade exhibition. All sorts of sports brands, medical suppliers, and shoes companies were there to present their lastest products. On the other hands, most delegates were whipping off many samples (like the foot creams/lotions) and shove it into their carriers as they browsed through those stalls. Hopefully in the next conference , there will be more case study presentations rather than research ones. At least abit of fair mixed, so that people like me who can never like research will not be having too many cups of coffees in order to stay awake throughout the whole talk.

*sigh* I am suffering from acne now. Quite demoralising. Even patients asked me what has happened to my face. I can't wait to see a dermatologist in 2 weeks' time. Apparenlty, I just got to know that manuka honey may help to deal with the problem.

Sha Shay Sha Shay

Not trying to say I dress very well. Today at least got 3 humans asked me where I get the blue-knitted cardigan top.

First fashion victim: Boss's wifey (BW)

BW (in her most Singapore San-pak< "San Ba" in Mandarin> slang:
Eh where you get ya top from har? I also got leh. I got 3 somemore. How much you buy?

Me (eyes try not roll up and mind thinking that was a mouthful of questions to ask):
Oh I got that from Hornsby and cost only $10 bucks. Hurhur!

BW: HAR? So cheap uh? Aiyoh, I bought my 1st top for $40 bucks, 2nd and 3rd for $20bucks each.

Me: They are made in China and I don't think it's worth to pay so much. You can buy like several pieces for your friends.Ha!
(now you know we can never be great shopping mates)

Second fashion victim: Old lady patient (OLP)

OLP: Oh I got a sore corn...that's a nice top you wearing.

Me: Thanks. *giggle to myself*

Third fashion victim: Book- keeper (BK) at the clinic

BK:" That's a lovely top. Did you knit them ya self?

Me: " No, I got it for 10 bucks.Heh heh."

My supportive friend

Is my traditional chinese medicine Dr. He always think I am in a good profession and should set up my own clinic after I've got the experiences you need. Isn't it nice to hear someone being so encouraging?
He gave me this acne cream and instructed me:" apply on left cheek first and one week later, compare to the right cheek , then see got improvement or not."
ME:" orr, uncle."

Geez, no patients book in this Thurs.*sian half*
Maybe I should take the opportunity to check out the Bali tickets. KH - one of very very good dude friends needs a escapade from *ah hem* a girl.
Then if the weather is good I wanna go check out the swimming complex.

My typical dinner(Curry hokkien stir-fry noodles)

SO do you think I can be a perfect housewife and yet not desperate? *sniggles*
I cook everyday for myself after work. I don't believe eating too much outside food for one thing it is too expensive to pay here for one meal and usually I can't finish the large portion of the food here.

I got a 6 year-old boy came in for flatfeet. The boy is sure a smartie. Can tell me exactly where the pain on his feet is. Unlike some adults, worst than kids who do not know what their problems are.My radiologist friend stated this:" Clinic is like a prositution- you have to give ya best and still theyhave to bitch about it - especially women who are not really sick in the first place".
So funny... ...

Cheap deals

Went to a hospital for a quick interview today. The good thing being a podiatrist is "you are wanted everywhere." So I forsee I'll start the job next month. hurhur!!

Since the shopping mall is just around the corner of the hospital, I've managed to get a cheapie deal on a white long sleeved blouse. Since there is a bit of (probably make up stain) near the collar, I asked for a new piece.
As usual, most (or 99%) of the sales assistants will say this quote:" sorry, that's all the sizes we have. Very popular the top." Errr, ok lor. I requested to have it checked out at other stores. She politely replied:" if you like it so much, I give you another 10% discount on the discounted price."
Wah!!
I bought it straight away. Since it's white, can bleach the top easily.

Think I am so sian in Australia. Can't believe it. Going back to Singapore is not having a holiday at all. I need to go somewhere else........

How to meet new friends (guys)

My receptionist said:" you should go out more often."

My receptionist's dad said:" you should go to a trendy bar!"

Another fellow podiatrist said:" no, maybe you should wait for a young and handsome bloke to come into the clinic and then you can drop dead from there."

The orthotic lab technician said:" have you been to that xxx club? There is a lot of young people hanging out there.."

Geez, I am giving an impression to all these people that I need to get a life.

Just a joke to share:
My receptionist added on:" If they can put a man on the moon, why can't they bring the rest of the men up there?"

Hurhur. Bad men should be exile up to the moon then.

You Frigging Bitc*

That refers to my previous landlord. She refused to return me my bond money. Say will return it but for the bloody 2 weeks, no news from her. By tomorrow, she and her ex husband can get ready to receive a summon for tribunal court hearing. Even though it's only a few hundred dollars, the money still doesn't belong to you beeech! Cannot stand people who are not being honest. Wait till karma falls on you KNNCCB si ABNN (if you don't know the latter abbreviation, just ask me).

VN and myself were discussing about our potential christmas gateaway. We wanna go to whitsundays (in Queensland- very beautiful island where lotsa couples got married there) and Great kepple island. Initially, we thought may be a bad idea to see so couples here and there. Then again, you never know where there may also be a few hot bods which deserve my drools on them. hurhur!! I'll make sure I'll bring a few bikinis set plus high SPF sunscreen along. Heh, 2 girls and a road trip. That would be loads of fun.

I miss the beaches in Perth...

Did I tell you I was in love with the Gypsy skirts nowadays?

Got this piece of very important information from this old lady patient of mine:

" if you want to buy a retirement village, you gotta pay a lump sum with a minimal cost from AU$75000. Then you have to pay about 170 bucks for every 2 weeks for maintainence cost.*fair enough*" As you can tell, I've already forsee my spinster mode and not interested to get hook up in near future.

Most boring weekend

Spent most of the time boiling the herbs to drink to improve my health. It is awfully bitter to drink but at least I don't feel as lethargic as I was yesterday. Otherwise, I'm spending the rest of my time uploading pics, chatting with VN and doing my tax stuffs.

Sissy sent me this bloglink:
http://tristefemme.blogspot.com
It is about this girl who chose to put up about her unwanted pregnancy on a blog. Very interesting blog that one should read on how the guy left once he found out she was pregnant. I still remember when I was a young and innocent 18year old nursing student, I was being put on a placement at a local women's hospital. I can never forget seeing aborted fetus in the treatment room. The fetus scene at the hospital always remain in my head. Don't know why and like I always tell myself, if you are not ready to deal with the consequences, then don't have sex. Yes, some people may say it's hard to control the emotions or rather think with your brain especially at the sparks of moment. I don't mind becoming a single mum once I'm ready plus no takers . 9 out of 10 guys I've met are either too thrashy or trying to get me laid. So what's the point of waiting for the right one. This is too hard......
Now I just wanna work hard, save enough money and buy a retirement village.

My body feels like a jelly

After stuffing so many western drugs for the past one week, my whole body feels so weak, so not energetic plus think I've slimmed down now. My pants is soo loose and I dislike that feeling. Everyday is plain porridge for all meals since I got not much appetite to eat.I miss mom to take care of me especially when I am so sick. She rang a couple of times to see if I am ok. And that's the pic of her which I took when I went back to Singapore. Oh that's my top she is wearing. Since it is too big for me, she can have it then. Mom always say I work too hard and yet all the bling goes to see the Dr. In fact, besides working mon-fri at the clinic, I am locuming at another clinic on Saturday. No choice, the burden of my brother's university fees is coming next year... ...

The people at the work place tried their best to take care of me each and anyway possible. Greg made me a cuppa hot lemon, Kylie- another fellow podiatrist always offer to make me a cuppa tea, the receptionist bought me some lamingtons.

Supposed to get a repeat dose of Augmentin tablets but the more I ate those antibiotics, the more nausea I get. Went over to see a traditional chinese physician and gave me 3 packets of herbs (that look like a bundle of roots, scrubs, and leaves) to be boiled and consumed. Then this Chinese Dr commented that I am in a good profession. Should get a chance to set up my own clinic if possible. He sorta relate how TCM (traditional chinese medicine) relates to the importance of feet. Yah, will set up my own clinic ultimately but I hate to forgo my holiday. The best is still marrying off someone rich and old and dying soon.

Thursday, August 11, 2005

I am depressed because... ...

1) I am still sick.Never felt so miserable with flu, cough and fever.

2) I can't re-schedule a ingrown toenail surgery. I told the receptionist to change that but she claimed that it's not easy for patients to take time off for the procedure. *eyes roll up* What about me? What if I faint just because I can't breathe through the mask and will you be the one responsible?

3) pimples - they can never be your best friends.

4) whatever I cook and yet I can't taste it due to severe block nose.

5) I have to pay $ for flu tablets

6) my tax has not been done.
