Xmas tree

Standing at 90cm tall, I got my very own first xmas tree from the local Kmart store. The theme for the tree is red bulb- looking balls and gold glitters. The power of batteries my digicam are almost gone and thus, resulting in weak flash. The tree does look nice as compared to the picture taken. Now all I need is erm...presents to be put under the tree.

My fellow colleague has extended her invitation to me if I would like to join her family for x'mas dinner on the eve itself. So nice worr...... Sigh* think I am giving people the impression that this year's xmas I will be super lonely and pathetic. I'll survived, of course, with a nice turkey dinner plus few glasses of champagne.Enjoying the peace and serenity on this festive season isn't that bad as one would think.

Can't wait for the weekend to come. Apparently the weather will be nice enough that I am able to clad in my bathers for a beach outing. Can do some eye candy on the surfer dudes too.*yummy*

My patients are soo lovely today. Those lovely aunties giving a peck on my cheek to remind me to enjoy the christmas no matter what. *healt melts*

Mr L came into the clinic as usual to have his feet checked. He was very pale-looking but not scawny. Currently he is battling with his pelvic/prostate cancer and due to have his last dose of chemotherapy next week. Mr L has never failed to lose his sense of humour even his illness faces the darkest hour. He said this in his lively tone:" I've lived a good life. What's there to worry about even when one gets sick. When it's time to go, I'm all set to go." I am truly inspired by Mr L's positive mindset.

I wanna ROARRRRRR*

Cannot tahan (endure) the hospital system man. Seriously cannot make it. To think that this is a highly cosmopolitian city but in terms of health care wise*nods head*
WHY?

1) Parking - Very limited for the staffs and visitors. I know from the receptionist that one hospital even charge $6 bucks flat rate just for car parking. How ridiculous is that. So let's just say that I wanna pass some stuffs to my relatives. I'll be paying extra 6 bucks just to hand over the stuffs. What the?? Also, if you happened to be late for work, you can also say goodbye to the carpark lots.

2) The dodgy looking hospital - take the place for instance where I'm working now. Every morning when I step into the 'house' (yes it is a house looking department with a zinc roof top), that place just stenched with a certain kind of odour. The carpet doesn't seemed to be cleaned for ages and the wooden walls remind me of my Grandma's kampong house in JB. To say it in an awful way, it may collapse at anytime *CHOY* *CHOY* (touchwood).

3) Job scope - Sigh* I thought the time has allocated nicely for each patient.BUT, ME gotta scrub and rinse those instruments after used on every patients. Plus, pack in a square cloth before wrapped it into a paper autoclave bag. What the?? Am I not being busy enough or what?? I don't understand why the dept can't make use of the CSSD (sterilising unit for instruments). There's more! We are also assigned to clean up the autoclave machines by following the protocols as stated.

I think the whole system or even the dept itself need to be seriously reformed man......

Babe (Beggar) can be chooser!

Men See You As Choosy
Men notice you light years before you notice themYou take a selective approach to dating, and you can afford to be pickyYou aren't looking for a quick flirt - but a memorable encounterIt may take men a while to ask you out, but it's worth the wait
How Do Men See You?

Happy and sad notes

On the sad note:
I've been taking this anti acne drug for the past 2 months and for the last 2 months, the dermatologist has increased the dosage. Something happened like last Thursday. I can't be bothered going to work. I was moody and tired and felt utterly irriated without a reason. Sure enough, I was late for work for half an hour and my colleague busted at me.Boss was on maternity leave so she doesn't know about anything at all. This wasn't me and why the hell I was feeling like shi*. I can't comprehend myself at a certain point. All I want is to get home to rest after work. On my mind, I was thinking could it be the side effect of the drug which I am taking? The information leaflet of the drug did state down mood change as part of side effects for one taking the medicine. I don't believe/denied that it may have hit on me. Other part of my mind is convincing me that this isn't happening to me or probably I am just feeling down on a typical morning in a harmless way. I don't wish the whole hospital knows that I am taking the meds. Why should they know in the first place? However, my plan is to see the dermato Dr again. It would be helpful if he can write a letter for my boss in charge to explain how this should affect my work to a certain extend. I don't feel suicidal please and all I can say is, mood change is the more appropriate word to describe me.

Nonetheless, after such big hoo haa busted scene, Anita rang me from SG to cheer me up. Definitely brighten up the rest of my day.

On the happier note:
I received a letter from my sponored child! I am soo soo soo happy when I got the letter in the morning. His family speaks Kihaya as part of their local language and Kiswahili is the national language. Heh to think that they got their own dialects like the chinese do.
At least I know he likes ball games, running and writing and maths. So I feel I've put the money into good use for giving him a chance on education. The letter which I've received was translated into English from Kihaya. Ed is my inspiration and like I said, he will always remind me that I am living in a much better world than he does so I gotta stop complaining! hurhur

My very own idea of proposal

If I ever ever being proposed by a man (IF , that is), he will not get away simply by asking me:" will you marry me?" Now times have changed and this is not exceptional. He ought to give me a damnx100 good reason on why he deserves me so much.
Heh heh.
Nowadays, I've noticed quite a number of ladies can get quite overwhelmed easily whenever their dudes presented them with a whatever carat diamond and proposed. True enough, said is easier than done.
It would be really unfortunate if the girl has accepted the ring and starts thinking later if he is the one in her life.
Tsk tsk.

This blog is soo lame. Weather is going to be sux this weekend again..which means.....no beach!
BOOHOO*

Jingle bell Jingle Bell Jingle Bell rock but this year..it may not ROCK so much... ...

One super hot afternoon, I decided to write some Christmas cards to my friends around the world. After buying 10 cards, I guess I still need another 10 to go..duh* making double trip to the shops on 2 consecutive days. ANYHOW, anyone or'blog fan' out there would like a xmas card from me, feel free to email ya addy ( you may choose to put down initials for privacy matters and likewise I would do the same.). To me, Christmas is always a good time to care and share with friends (far and near).
This Christmas would *probably be the most most pathetic one I've ever had in Oz. Usually my mom would come during the Xmas season to visit me in Perth. And again, I was supposed to go to Rockhamption -North Queensland for a getaway but my gf's dad is rocking up there too.
Our plan of going Whitsunday Coast for some candy eye on surfer dudes is pretty much dashed!!
What to do... ...

Maybe I will get a mini turkey roast and some bottles of Hoeegarden in fridge to beat the summer heat as well. And stuffed myself with food while surfing online. BOOHOO*

I feel like singing Whitney Houston's I"M EVERY WOMAN...I"M EVERY WOMAN......

I need to get clinque's blusher in Smoldering plum colour- I swear using that ever since I was 17. That was like almost a decade ago.....Christ!

Xmas list (draft copy)

Pic: This is the workshop at the clinic. Custom made orthotics (insoles) are made here with a lot of manpower involved. Sometimes I grind a lot of hard polypropene or EVA stuffs and also getting in touch with heatgun plus super glue. Hey check out who is the handy grrrl here.

All I want for Xmas (draft):
1) IPOD mini
2) Hair Dryer - the one which I got now has a very loooose nozzel head.
3) A handbag that never goes out of style ( Seriously, I am that kind of girl who hates handbag. So I rather get one which lasts and able to use it on all occasions). I saw that DKNY one....
4) Postcards around the world....Come on, anyone can do that! Ask for my address!
5) Sugar daddy ( apparently this wish has been granted much earlier than I expected....Hor, Dr Vagus?? ;p)
6) SK2 beauty stuffs - my patient swears using this but it's bloody ex!

Bus lineup!

This is the one and only bus that goes my housing area. What I usually do is to park the car near the bus stop and get a bus transport to the city. Toll and car park fees can burnt through your pockets here in Sydney. The good thing about the civilians here is they know to Q up for the bus...unlike back home, I always get squeesed by those si beh kiasu (English translate " being over panicky for nothing") aunties or ah peks who can't wait to get one of their feet step up onto the bus.

My favourite Irish lady patient came in few days ago to the clinic. She has got such a pleasant personality that you never fail to enjoy a good chat with her. She knows about my encounter with an Irishman few years ago. Each time as she walked through the clinic, she often humours me that if I ever heard of that Mr Irish. And of course, I replied that if he ever writes to me, that would be a miracle. Allelujah!
What I have now it's only memories lingering on my mind. Who knows, it may gradually fade away as the years go by. Or perhaps, I can't even remember anything when I get to 60, 70 or even 80.Unless I suffered from early dementia *TOUCH WOOD*
Now, the focus of my life is to earn as much bling bling as possible to put my bro through the uni, taking care of myself, doing my distance running at least 2 times a week, keeping in touch with my friends and African sponsored child, Ed.

I went to the mall and walked past this pet shop. Male mice on sale. From AU$8.99 reduced to $3.99. So tempting to get one..then again as if i know how to take care of them ;p I need an animal companion!! Rented property doesn't allow animals though.

*note: Sugar Daddy Vagus, you confirming to be my one? or not?

Weekend recap

Last Friday, it has been such a loooong time that I went out at night to have a nice decent dinner with a couple of girlfriends. So we settled on having wood fried pizza and a large caesar salad. Conversations were the usuals. For them , they often talked mainly on studies, research, and next holidays. That's pretty sum up the life of being a student.

Spent the whole Saturday walking around the city and watched an Imax film. I am thinking to catch the one about Egypt next weekend.Supposed to wait for a call from a Brisbane buddy.Well, it seemed he was quite caught up with his friend plus party life. I'll leave him on that then. I need to stop shopping.....gosh I just have to keep myelf occupied on the weekends especially. I've thought of taking up scubadiving again. Geez, would you pay up to 200 bucks for just a 30min dive at the aquarium? Not unless I am desperate.
I do longed for the time to be home, to be with friends/family, to do my diving, to watch movies with friends,...etc..the list shall go on. There will be a time that I'll be home soon. Very soon...

Woke up on Sunday in the late morning. I was probably in the semi concious state. I had a recap of what happened between me and M in my so called 'dream'. Never would I even think of getting close to him. Maybe I'm just being overly nice. This is me and I am not gonna change it.
I missed him though- he's someone whom I can talk with at ease...aiya am i thinking too much here?!

Why the fees in Singapore Uni is getting sooo expensive? Think I am going bankrupt very soon after paying off my bro's fees. sigh* All I want for Christmas is a Good O' sugar daddy... ...

What my patients have said to me today (edited version)

Scenerio 1:
This 90 year old granny proudly announced that she is celebrating her 91 yo birthday in the coming January. "See, it's not fun getting old," as she commented. " I'm not young like you anymore, you got a good figure and very pretty too."
"Oh thanks Mrs Xxx, I'm so flattered," I replied with a wide grin on my face.
" You shouldn't be. This is the truth." Wah Mrs Xxx certainly made my day. *hops around*
Scenerio 2:
Old man to receptionist: " oh you giving me that new girl (that's me) again?? I didn't like the way she cut my toes."
Receptionist to me:" Mr Grumpy is bit fussy. He hasn't got any ulcers and not sure exactly what's the wuss about."
Old man with ? lover came to the clinic and I provided the treatment likewise as I treated with the rest of my patients.
Old man to receptionsist: " She's very good, very gentle."
*duh*
Scenerio 3:
Man with smelly ulcers to Receptionist:" She's very good. Gotta keep her here!"
I wish I can tell that man that only his ulcers interest me...

SO fun!

See that little patch close to those instruments? That's actually a piece of ingrown toenail which I've removed on patient's big toe.

I guess this is the main excitement for today's work. I've been a good girl as I went running today. I guess I would have gone to take a nap after work. I'll not be surprised if I start to notice my a** would start getting bigger without exercising.

Tomorrow I shall make myself happy going to the city and watch a film at IMAX theatre.

*6months more back to SG for holiday!! * A little too early for countdown? Who cares.

I hate to think that as each minute passes by can be so depressing for me....

Not so happening Sunday

I bought these chocs from the Scots festival last weekend. One of the choc bars said "it's not for girls." How bias is that. Anyway, I still buy it and it's very yummy.Who cares if it's meant for guys only.

Weather sux on weekend as usual. Wet and gloomy is the forecast for today.I douch know what I'll be doing today really... *eyes roll up*

*SCREAMS*

By the way, why do the blondies like to tan their skin until orangy colour? I mean, why try so hard if your skin doesn't allow that to happen. That is always the option of using fake tan lotions/sprays/gels to cater for your brown needs. No wonder the skin cancer rate is going sky high here... tsk tsk.

Hot babe check 1 2 3

My bro dressed up as a chinese vampire for the Halloween partay at Zouk last Monday. He sure got himself a good deal of this drop dead gorgeous 'fallen angle'.

I can't sleep tonight as I've taken a nap right after work. Obviously I am super wide awake.

I spoke to M over MSN and she told me one of the local hospitals offered me 3k a month if I wanna take up the job. I was utterly disgusted by that figure. Look, I just don't go to uni for another 3 years to get a pay rise of 1k more than my previous nursing pay. Podiatry is such a specialised area that each university has only a(estimate) maximum intake is 20 students. Of course, there may be some students drop out along the way. In short, there is still inadequate supply of pods needed in Oz. Unfortunately, it appears to me that that local hospital may be more concerned about their budget rather than thinking for patients who are in need of prompt treatment on their rotting feet. What a shame.

I hope the HR will read my CV correctly. I am very sure I've got what it takes on my job.*not boosting here but the truth is I've got 2BScs, 7 years nursing experiences, overseas experiences on various settings/clinics, qualified bar cert, scubadiving licence, and now doing my continuing education to attain as an accredited pod (as recognised by the association). On the other hand, I hope the HR- minded people would start flipping pages on lower limb mechanics and foot pathology.Don't just think that because I am a local and you can exploiting the local talent. IF my qualifications and experiences are not good enough, then make a list out on what is considered 'good' or not.
I am not going back to earn peanuts if I have a choice. I don't see the need to compromise at all. In health care industry, it's not just about qualifications as gaining the amount of experiences are equally important. Therefore I need(to continue) to prove myself till they can't give any excuse for such lousy pay.

Accountant Blues

The previous accountant rang me today and he was really furious when I told him that I've swapped another accountant with better service. He said I should have consulted him before hand. What the shi*. And he is now threatening me with a solicitor letter for not paying his fees (1350AU). I verberlized that he did not being honest in his fees in the first place and he rebuked back saying that "well , you didn't ask."
CB!!!!!!!!!!!! x100times.

Look, I can chose to make a complaint to fair trading office or pay him on the lousy quality work done. However, if i decide to make a complaint, it will take about 20days where the fair trading officers would be middleman to try and resolve the issue between us.

So would you choose to pay the full amount or fight till the end?
I am quite tired of fighting this battle alone... ...Seriously, I hope he will crush and burn in hell.

Scotts festival

What a shame that it rained yesterday at the annual scottish highland gathering. This is one of the pics that I've captured with the 'band' performing for a competition. Check out that lady's guranteed waterproof PVC white boots. Sure they are made for walking.

I saw a stall selling haggies! Heard from VN is actually a type of mince from lamb stomach?! *burp* Wanted to try it but there wasn't any dry seat or table due to the rain. Plus carrying an umbrella doesn't really help much. I went over the other stall and bought some chocs. That scott uncle saw me wearing a pair of thongs and asked if my feet are cold. Uncle obviously didn't check weather report. The maximum temperature was 23 degree celsius on that day though.

Sigh* count down to 14months for home. Was chatting with Kenneth over MSN yesterday. We can't wait to meet in Singapore for a piss nightout at Balaclava. To come to think of it, I am quite blessed by a number of friends whom I can always rely on and enjoy a good time with them.

My 1st post to sponsored child

Stickers are for Ed's birthday coming in November. I'm writing him a postcard from Syd too and hopefully he will enjoy this 'mini' present from me. *his pic can't be revealed online for privacy reasons*

Why the weather on the weekends are always gloomy one...... si beh sian. Tomorrow I am going for a scottish carnival near my place.

That CB accountant kept ringing my work place.Ever since he was informed by me on the multiple mistakes he made on calculation while attempted to change my personal details as well, I decided to ignore his exsistence. But my bet is he will try to screw some money out of me despite the work was done incorrectly. He would think I should as last pay for his service. I was telling Shan that if I ever give him a cent, that's because I take pity of him that he has to resort such dishonesty on his work in order to earn the income for his family. I've ever thought of throwing the money on the floor for him to pick it up. Then again, I thought it was quite an unglamourous thing to do since he is a disabled. I am beginning to find Syd very boring...maybe I have not had many friends. Not sure how long I would last here.. ...

Daylight savings

Damn pissed that I cannot upload some very beautiful images of myself on the blog. *cough*
No plans for tomorrow except I know I gotta stop my shopping mode. Move most of the winter clothes into the boxes as summer is drawing closer. Now I am an hour faster compared to the time in SG.

What's new:
1) the latex gloves are irritating my hands every now and then.

2) Ireland Vs Australia Footy game on tv now. Sigh* reminds me of HIM again *pui pui pui* It's been almost 2 years and I wonder how he is doing.

3) Bought a new Billabong blue leather 70s sports bag.

4) I wrote a postcard to my sponsored child and I got some cute glittering animal stickers for him on his coming birthday.

Now I can flaunt my hair...with style.

As requested by some readers out there who are curious on my new hairstyle, there you go with the pic. Heh, I hate to expose myself on the blog lah. And also being a shy person like me doesn't really help either. *cough cough*
My patients like my new hairdo. HEE. The English lady (as one of my patients) came in to have her feet treated. She's one of the most most gorgeous lady who never failed to shower me lots of care and concern. She ensures that I know where to get a decent place to stay prior the move from western state. She always said she will pray for me to get a 'man' soon - that's must be a joke. I would suggest if only she can pray that men who are only interested in sex to stay far away from me. *eyes roll up*

Here comes the real bitching:

I got a lady coming in who needed a pair of orthotics and her nails done. So after taking the general history and doing the nails, there is no way I can spend extra done for casting. So I suggest that she should make another appointment whenever she can. She gave an ok and will make an appointment at the reception. I'm totally overwhelmed by the reception-ist(boss's wifey) incompetent to simple instructions - " can you make another appointment for her on casting?". After the patient has left, she said patient didn't make any. COME ON. You should ask the patient when is she avaliable for the next appointment and not wait till patient to ask instead!!?!! I am flaring up in my heart...I need a glass of coke to cool me down. As you see, I'm paid more with the orthotic therapy. She spells the patients' names incorrectly. Got the name wrongly on appointment book. Sounds jia-lat ( horrendous).

Swim, Jacuzzi and Sauna...ahhhhhhhh

Sports conference went well except for a few long-winded speakers. Today's conference is held in the nice looking fitness centre. Towards the end of the conference, all delegates are allowed to use the onsite facilities. Wah, the suana shiok man. It's been a long time I went for a suana. Reminded me of the days where I often go to the country club in Singapore.
Back on the conference issue, I really don't understand why this ang moh uncle like don't how to switch off his mobile phone during the talk. Gees, I don't wish to label him anything but I hope he is not a bloody retard to undersand simple manners!?
Not only his mobile rang a few times, so does his text message beeps. WTF?? Annoys me and I really wish someone can smash his phone into pieces.
Unless he hasn't got the slightest clue of where the vibrate mode is.
DUH*

WOOHOO!! I can't wait I just can't wait to cut my hair. *do the hussel!!*
