All -time- favourite hit

By Youssou N'Dour And Neneh Cherry

::7 seconds::
(with translation in English)

Don't see me from a distance
Don't look at my smile
And think that I don't know
What's under and behind me
I don't want you to look at me and think
What's in you is me
What's in me is to help them
I assume the reasons that push us to change everything

I would like us to forget about their color
So they can be optimistic
Too many views on rave that make them desperate
Let's leave the doors wide open
So they can talk about their pain and joy
Then we can give them information
That will bring us all together

Chorus:
It's not a second 7 seconds away
Just as long as I stay, I'll be waiting
Nothing can move us, we should be moving

From the ones who practice wicked charms
For the son and the stone Bad to the bone
Man is not evil, even when it's born
And when a child is born into this world

It has no concept
The tone the skin is living in

Chorus
There's a million voices

There's a million voices
To tell you what she should be thinking
So you better sober up for a second

Catch the MTV on you-tube which was wonderfully produced!
The song was sang partly in French (i think) and had won a Grammy nomination in 1994.
In addition, this international hit reached the top 3 in many countries such as Germany, UK, Australia..etc
I love listening to it! Going to get VN to search this song for me and download onto my new Creative gadget.

The return of Mr ABNN

With his 'palm-to-palm', Mr ABNN couldn't thank me enough for the service provided.

Unlike the locals, who often lack in graciousness , can hardly be as humble as Mr ABNN.

Now my holiday plans have been crushed. Don't you hate it when someone else wanted the days as you do when there are like 365days to chose from?

Music gets the best of me

I love to play Jazz music when I'm working. Try listening to the hospital's classic music. Every freaking day they are playing the same old thing. Even patients are not happy about it. Thank goodness there's a volume control system in my room to turn off those annoying tunes.

However, after a day's work, I would prefer to listen songs by Jason Mraz, Plain white Ts, The Fray (love their songs soo much), Lighthouse family, Hoobastank, Maroon 5, Oasis....etc Recently, I was thinking that if one day should I dress up as a Rock Chick, I would be singing this song by Stone Temple Pilots called 'Plush'.

Best discography songs belong to Sophie Ellis Bextor. I can boogie my bums throughout with her music.

Going on second best disco track on my list would be Sneaky Sound System (check them out on you-tube).

I got a new Lisa Ono soundtrack which I can play it at my workplace tomorrow!

Wheeeee!

LaLaLaLaLa...Lalalalala
When I was little, I'm an avid collector of smurfs. I would collect stickers of them, figurines, tshirts and not forgetting my smurfette comb.
These little blue things have been with me for the past 20yrs. Few days ago, I took them out to have their first bath.

Men

I had a dinner with a guy friend from my secondary school recently. I've come to realise that he can be labelled one of the most boring guys on earth. I mean, we've been friends for the past 10 years and of course I don't mind him as friend BUT he would be classified as a lousy bf category.

He has been constantly complaining to me that he hasn't found a suitable girl to date...etc..

Actually, he did went out with this girl for a dinner date. Throughout the talking, he realised that she may not be 'the one' afterall.

I almost yell at him for being so judgemental on the first date.

*sigh* Patience...I can't see any in him.

Neber mind. Since I'm considered as his good friend, this was what I've telling him at least from a girl's perspective.

" Ah Bee, you are too career focused. I know you want to make it big. Sometimes, you got to learn when to slow down and smell the roses. Don't just spend all your time entertaining your clients. Do spend a friction of time with your friends too (in regardless of guys or girls). * note: He has this thing against meeting secondary school girl-classmates."

Most people that I know doesn't seem to understand when it's the time to play, you PLAY. When it's time to work, you WORK.

When I was representing the school for basketball games in the early years with training 3 times a week, I would have to manage loads of school work at the same time. There's no time mucking around for other miscellaneous stuffs.

Anything can be done with proper time managment skills ;)

About an ABNN story

I paid a bottle of Betadine (antiseptic solution) for this ABNN's wound. Poor ABNN didn't know he's paying the private rate for his treatment. How the employer treat the foreign ABNNs one? He already suffered so much pain before the op and on a week's MC, his boss wanted him to start work before the MC expires.

I told him that if the boss insists on him starting work before coming an end of MC period, I will call his boss and kpkb. And will also indicate that the liability is on him should the toe becomes black.

ho ho ho!

Have you?

What is it that you have changed your attitude towards me? If you are not happy, then just let it all out!

A Small drama

Pa claimed that I've been an exceptional unfilial daughter in his eyes at least. The socks deal which I got it from Nxxx was meant for the disabled athletes. Honestly, I was proud of myself securing such 'deal' on the behalf of those athletes.
Pa insisted to have a pair of socks from the free giveaways but I refused to give him any.
So much that I've explained that most athletes are coming from poor family backgrounds, he shouldn't even have the cheeks to ask for it.
Nothing much I can do since he's been so pissed with me.
Vn has brought to my attention that most chinese dads can be upset if the daughters are giving away stuffs for outsiders instead for own family members.
She suggested I should get a pair for him in order to buy 'peace' at home.
I supposed that's the only way to pacify him.

Kinda upset sometimes.

What's cooking

::Friday::

Went out to Velvet Underground with a babe selling insulin and another one selling some kind of dressings. We took turns to buy drinks since it's 1 for 1 deal till 1 am.
Met a banker who tried to chat up with me. As far as getting to know guys in a club, I'm not really that keen at all. Strangely enough, I just don't believe in clinching a good catch at clubs. (or unless you are damn frigging lucky). A dark ang moh guy attempted to buy me a drink.I had to reject it politely since my gf already getting me 2 glasses of Vodka redbull. He was cool about it. Vn was commenting that if only he looks abit like Denzel Washington. Too bad he wasn't ! ;p

If only finding a Mr Right with a kind soul would be that easy, I wouldn't be hanging in the air for so long. So much for my study and career sacrifices made for the past couple of years, I suppose my social life only regain it's full swing till my recent return in Sg. I was dying to have my SOCIAL LIFE back while I was in Oz.

::Saturday::

Work as usual. Went over to meet M at Marina Sq. Had Carl Junior meal for the first time. We were volunteering our time with Nxxx store in conjunction with the Shape run. Spoke to SC and Ive asked if he could kindly donate some socks to the disabled athletes. And he did agree! I was overwhelmed by his generosity and kindness. At least for now the athletes can have some decent socks to wear during their sports activities.

I truly enjoy the perks and benefits being in this profession. With that, I'm able to throw those perks into good use for those people who are in need. Last year (while Im in Oz), Clarks gave me a free pair of children shoes for my' kid' to try on. Eventually, I gave it away to a pt of mine with celebral palsy. She was happy as a lark!

::Sunday::

Gearing up for the Shape run. Did 5 km with the disabled runners.Got on a short appearance on ESPN's sport centre. The main organiser has been rather kind to the runners where they can get to chill out at the VIP arena with media attention. The feeling of being able to run in the CBD area was sensational. Headed down to KM8 with a girlfriend for a swim. Checked out some stores at Vivo.
I did have a wonderful time.

Rude people

I had a request from a doc for an early appointment on a case of tendinitis condition.
While communicating halfway with a nurse, the doc took over the phone and asked if I could see the client within 2 weeks.
I replied that I need to check on the appointment first and happy to take down pt's contact in the meantime.

Check the response I got below:
" no need la, I think I am wasting my time here. Forget it.I'll send the patient outside"

I don't frigging care if you are big doc or small doc.Certainly, you don't present yourself with proper manners at all. Neither was I rejecting the doc's request. qu4 si3 ba4.

Thanks darling for this yummy- looking black sausages pic from Okinawa!

The one lighter in colour contained seaweed. The main ingredient is pork. Apparently, it tastes fishy as commented by VN.
I can't help but to think that it would be nice to make it into sandwiches for lunch. YUM YUM!

Top 10 things I never want to hear from patients....

I've contributed the first 3 statements to a pod forum. And now the rest as followed below:

1) " Since you are working as a healthcare professional, can I ask you a few questions on my piles as well?"
*Believe it or not, this patient threw a fair amount of questions on her piles (haemorriods) treatment on me early in the morning somemore. knn....
Worst! Hear this out. She also did tell me that how her hubby had his extral lump tried with a 'string' and fell it off eventually. Now she is wondering if the procedure will be the same as her hubby's.
恶心!我 ptoooi!

2)" Can you please check my fingernails if they need to be cut?"

3)" Can't the insoles be any cheaper? The other Dr at another hospital is selling for xxx price."

4) " I can't get a taxi on time. No taxis stopped for me"

5) " I see the wrong date/wrong date/wrong place"

6) "Since im here, can i get you to write a prescription of insulin, asthma medications OR something for headache, stomach pain OR flu? And also please give me some cream for my itchy body"

7)" Can I also get you to see my father/grandfather/grandmother/mother/daughter/son/auntie/uncle/grandchildren's feet as well since they are there?"

8) My big dr said the heel cushions will resolve my pain.

9) I thought you guys talior-made shoes?

10) Why are my nails so thick as I get older?

****
Bonous entry:

11) "My physiotherapist gave me some insoles but my pain on the heels is still there"
--> For those who issued insoles (besides the pods) ought to be shot in their heads sometimes.

Sponsorship

I emailed to the dude that I've known from Nixx headquarters. Stated on the email on the reasons why these athletes are in need of the socks, and if possible, sponsorship will be ideal and beneficial (marketing purpose). If sponsorship is not granted, other avenues of looking at sponorship will be from my own pocket. My beloved assistant nurse doesn't even mind chipping in a bit.

Dad offered to get his business partners involved if necessary.woohoo!

Come on, why should these special athletes wearing crappy socks (think socks that has been washed and tumbled in a washing machines for a few times) for training in the first place?

Monday, August 27, 2007

Dear Aunties/Uncles/Ah Peks/Ah mahs,

I know you all really care for my happiness. There are times I wish I can stop you all asking me if "I am married or not", "got a boyfriend boh?", " How can no boyfriend with your bootiful face", "If got a guy which I find suitable for you, can I ask him to come down to this room and look for you."

I've been bombed by such questions for the whole of last Friday at my clinic. Nothing much I can do anyway besides just smile lorrrr!
*ROAR*

There was this Uncle (chee-ko-pek?) even volunteer to get me flowers on the next visit.

I don't mind any guy who give me a bunch of tulips anytime though
Who knows I may even plant him a kiss upon receiving it. Ho Ho ho!

*******************************

Back from training with a bunch of special athletes gearing up for Shape run in September. Did a quick assessment on their lower limbs. Most of them not wearing good pair of socks. Every 4 athletes I've seen , 3 of them do possess some lower limb disorders. Funding from the sports hub is limited. I would have sponsor them quality pairs of socks only if my financial status allows. But Ah boy's school fees is due in Dec.....sigh*

My bro is the rockstar

Singapore Insitute Management is holding an annual uni bash at St James power house tomorrow evening. The ticket is going at $12. And my bro, being part of the committee, has been ordered to dress up like a 'rockstar'.

His outfit has been planned like this:

Calvin Klein skinny black jeans+ short sleeved white button down shirt.
Added a black 'old skool' look tie.

Accessorised with a metallic faux pax leather spidey wrist band, my chunky rings, and dark maroon nails by Maybelline Express fast drying varnish.

Slow and steady.....

My bro wants to know what other colours that are avaliable.

Yeah babey!! ;)

Dear Ben,

Now that you are moving into your second semester in Med 1, I hope you don't feel too despair or lonely being overseas by yourself. Studying abroad wasn't too much of an issue for me. However, everyone is different. All you need is the extra time to get yourself familiarized with the surroundings and finding your own clinque of friends which you can hang out with. Trust me. At the end of your studying journey, your life will be fufilled and relieved at the same time.Maybe you haven't got used to staying by yourself for such a long period of time. And of course, it is unlike the 'staying by yourself' in the army days.
I hope you can persevere and remember that your focus is on your study. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm sitting with you all the time.

Bugis Bagus

After paying a visit at Dr Oz's clinic last Saturday, took a one-stop train ride to Bishan station. Caught up with Con's friend to get the tickets on her behalf for a chinese drama play. Met up with Cons at Raffles MRT station. Such a shame it was pouring heavily on that day as we've planned to check out the rivermarkets at the Arts House. A lot of stalls selling upmarket accessories armed with their own creavitiy and labellings. When I was staying in Oz, I don't mind paying such handmade accessories. But the locals seem to give me the impression that since there isn't any brand attached, it may not worth to pay the price for that particular item.

Eg, a handmade bag will not comparable to a stylish branded bag.

This is probably the best way I can put it.

Got a call from Em saying that there was another bazzar happening at Nafa along Bencoolen St.Gosh, that place was packed with (mainly) ladies. Not your ideal Giordano or U2 brand clothings. Most of the fashion are in its vintage form. Prices can be a little on the steep side. After rummaging a few stalls, we decided to move on to Bugis for a drink.

Cons is doing 4 yrs of chinese studies at Beijing Uni. So her 'comrade' arrived. We chatted a lot about living overseas, our experiences vs local expectations. We agreed that we find it hard to communicate with our local friends especially after staying overseas for quite sometime. No, I'm not trying to judge on those who hasn't or can't afford to get a taste of living overseas. Going abroad has taught me a better person than I used to be. ( I'm more patience with others. Being considerate, always spare a thought of others. Know when to protect yourself and be firm..etc)

Regular travelling has also broaden my horizons on certain aspects of life. I used to be a timid little girl who wasn't very good at open up myself.

So there you go.

Pick shit

Mr TT was referred from another hospital for our specialist service. Fine, I took over the case. 90% of the wound was healing well. However, he would need to have a follow up with the previous hospital's surgeon for a wound inspection as done monthly. After the consult, Mr TT will have his dressing done by the nurses weekly. By right, he would need to have his next follow up with me a week later. Not sure what exactly took him a month to come in and see me. The wound site has increased extensively on the lower limb with moderate amount of seeping fluids seen.

So pek chek+++

I told him that it's either he has the follow- up with me on the expected date given or he can choose to have all the follow up at the previous hospital.

While I gave him my honest opinion, I was kinda really trying to control my temper. Just because he is the frigging patient, he can tell me which dressing to use instead of the suggestive one.

I'm ready to discharge him if he screws up the appointment.

Travel bug hits North

I had to drag my lazy ass up early in the morning to Dr Oz' clinic at Tpy. I was disciplined enough to go for my morning run prior to that.

To speed up the journey, I took a bus to AMK station and followed by train. Guided by Dr Oz's precise instructions given, I've managed to arrive at the clinic as the first client. Met Dr Oz for the first time and gave me 2 jabs which appeared to be not too 'traumatising' for me. Must be due to the skillful hands of Dr Oz. ho ho ho.

Next, I went over to Tpy central to catch up with Sab for a drink. An hour later, caught the bus 238 to another gf's house for some Jap style home-cooked lunch. After our meals, she decided that we should catch a concert by SYC at Tanjong Pagar.Left the concert half-way through for Junction 8 mall.Wahhhhh, junct 8 mall has changed so much. Everything looks so newwwww. hurhur.

The girls have booked a table with Secret Receipe for a get-together dinner. Apparently, the resturant has been shut down. The line was transferred to another outlet upon table reservation. All of us ended up eating at Cafe Cartel, then over to Coffee Bean plus a spontaneous birthday celebration for L at the entrance of Junct 8 since all the shops were shut. Took some silly pics and went on to Mackers for drinks till the place has closed at 1am.

Can't believe I've spent about 7 hrs at Junction 8 mall. Hurhur!

Stab! Stab! Stab!

What's wrong with the training on the hospital's clerks nowadays? Si beh sub-standard.

Or rather the department has been assigned with some receptionists who haven't got the slightest idea of handling patients? Beats me.

Patient's appointment was at 3pm but came at 5pm. Clerk did the registering without asking my approval since the pt was super duper late.Another assistant nurse rang and advised me that my 'last' pt was here waiting. I was busy attending the in-patients and couldn't believe that it was close to 5pm and yet what on earth is the clerk is doing.
Nevermind, I rushed down the clinic and realised that the clerk had already registered the patient. Knn!!! Usually with patients who are late for more than 30mins, it's either I don't see them at all or if there are already patients ahead of them, they will be seen as the last in regardless.

Moving on to the next case scenerio, the clerk can call me during my lunch break and make unncessary enquires. Don't expect me to give up my lunch break to see patients anyway. And that's not going to happen.

Wo ye shi ren.

Last but not least, this clerk also has the habit of asking the patients to talk into my room asking for walk-in appointment.

Woman pt: hi are you Miss XXX, I want to see you can or not.

Me: Can, as long as you have made an appointment.

Woman pt: The lady at the counter asked me to come in here leh.

Me: Never mind, let me walk with you to the counter and make an appointment.

*Standing at the counter

Me: Can you please help this lady to make the appointment?

Blurr clerk: She wants to walk-in

Me: Then you could have let the nurse know rather than asking the patient to come into my room while I'm having chocolates in my mouth. Would you please not to do that in near future?

*WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

These clerks need some serious boot camp EQ training!!!

Clueless

3 of us were supposed to have a happy and fun time celebrating V's birthday at a local resturant. Not until S asked JJ if he is interested in coming. Judging from V and my sms replies, S should have felt that his presence wasn't necessary. Afterall, V and myself did express to her that "we always have thought it's just 3 of u on today's dinner" thingy.

Anyway, that wasn't the main issue.
S threw a fit at me just because she felt I wasn't being upfront with him about my feelings.
I was stunned for a moment......

On the contrary, why should I be upfront with someone who hasn't even declared his feelings for me?
He has every right to pursue what he wants but doesn't mean I have to show some 'acti0ns' against it. If he doesn't get the hint, then there's nothing much can be done. Bloody loser!

S was saying how she felt stressful because of JJ who has bugging her for info.
Rather getting the support from a long- time friend like S, I was being thrashed by her sayings over a guy whom I don't even know his surname.

Vn was telling me how such person can be called my 'good friend' just because I'm not doing what she thinks it's right. I should deserve at least some respect from S upon my decision towards such issue. Nope, I'm being condemned.

I really have no idea why S choses to be bothered so much instead of telling that guy to move on and get a life.

Dear VN,

Don't get too upset ok? *hugs*

Bravo

My dear friend , N , found this doc appears to be quite geeky plus cute looking. Even though he has a dry sense of humour, N doesn't seems to mind at all. You know, those kind of jokes where you and I don't get it.
Anyhow, I added a few words of encouragement on how N wanted to ask him out for a game of pool on this coming Friday.

Vioooola! This dude replied and agreed to see her this Friday! She must be feeling as though she had just hit a jackpot or something.

(((my personal view)))

It's perfectly fine asking a guy out only if you decide to treat him as a friend from the start. Should you get yourself immerse with feelings or emotions in it, in this case, you may find yourself in a more difficult position scoring a date with your Mr Potential.
Sighs and symptoms of nervousness set in, breaking out in cold sweat, getting cold feet, and unable to think rationally. And that's NO good. The last thing is you don't really wish to make yourself behaving like a fool in front of him.

Go with the flow. Don't set any expectations till you get to know this person on a more personal level. It's always fair to date the person at least for a couple of times before deciding if you would like to go on further with the possibility of getting hook- up- kind of scenerios.
Personally, I don't believe in first sight. A bit of warmth up and time are the essential factors in order for me to open up myself to that person. This is getting such a' cosmo' column......

Love,

Flatfeet

Don't know why

The clerks cannot listen to simple instructions and so does my assistant nurse. When I want the patient to come on Tuesday, they ought to follow the instruction given and no questions as should be asked.
The reason why I want the pt to come in on a Tuesday is because the ortho Dua lokun will be around to review the pt.

Another issue is I'm having a 'new' assistant nurse. Not exactly new but she has helped out on another area for a fair while before coming back to pod. The most frustrating part is she doesn't listen properly which often leads to communication breakdown. It's like what I want versus on what she assumes. She's untidy and not proactive to top up stocks on time.
Really 'gek sim' sometimes to work with such people. I miss my previous assistant nurse.

Patient's love

Says who you need someone special to be thinking of you all the time. For my case, it's totally exceptional. One of my leg amputee patients was really nice to get me 2 pots of plants from home so they can brighten up my clinic. The furthest on the left was bought at my Aunt's florist shop. Of course added with my loving care and attention plus daily watering, I hope the plants wouldn't die on me faster than expected.Hurhur.

The moments, my feelings

I've got an elderly client today which almost make my heart broke into pieces. He is down with mutiple medical conditions which( thank goodness!) he's still able to walk himself with an aid of umbrella.
Together with his spouse, he was telling me in Hokkien that how he is worried for his 2 sons on the long run. One day his wife and himself will leave the world. The saddest part is both sons suffered from some form of mental illness. There is no way that they could get proper jobs to feed the family.
The entire whole family just has to rely on the benefits of a charity organisation for living.

Towards the end of the treatment, I was positive about taking charge over his consult fees. This sounds crazy but I didn't get a chance to do it since he's already possessed a medical social benefit card.

My ideal perfect Sunday

Wakie wakie rise and shine early in the morning. Then it's by exercise time at East Coast Park and enjoy a good workout.Followed by home-made breakfast filled with bacons, omelettes, baked beans, snags (sausages) and toasts with strawberry jams. Newspaper readings comes after breakfast with a cuppa of aromatic white latte laid on the side table.
By afternoon, my future hub and myself can go for a nice lil' shopping or sightseeing on places of interest. Or maybe even doing something together which we've never done it before at all.
Around evening time, meet parents or his parents for dinner. Just a couple of hours before we sleep, it would be DVD time! While the yellow dim light sets in the bedroom, we'll be watching the show in a cuddly manner and sipping onto a few glasses of orange martinis.

The end ;)

Allergy to write.....

My cough's back! Think I must have exposed to certain allergens today. Sigh* Allergens can be anything under the sun lor. I'll not be surprised one day if I die from an allergy reaction. When I was in Sydney, I remembered once I was frigging sick and coughing my lungs out. Seen at least 2 GPs and 1 TCM doc before I got better. At the last consult, the med doc gave me Nasonex and that solved the problem totally.

*****************************

I got thrashed

Sob! Those ortho docs are so smart. Discharged the patients from their side and referred it back to me for fug*
Eg. Miss Psy wanted to have her bunions (the big lumpy thing on 1st big toe) removed. She felt the Doc hasn't given her enough reassurances on the surgical option. She came back to me asking for surgical advice, pros n cons, costs, surgical issues....etc...
The bottomline is "i is not a surgeon ok!?"
She yakked so much that I wanted to charge her as a long consultation time.

Why Singaporeans hasn't got any sense of timing one?

Very often, I get 'excuses' for being late on their appointments like :

" I see the time wrongly";
" I see the date wrongly";
"The PIE/CTE/TPE jammed very badly";
" I worked night shift/morning shift /afternoon shift"
"I got other appointment today and I want to see if can see you today as well or not"
" My appointment is in 2 weeks time. Can I see you now instead?"
"Army lor, can only book out at certain time"
" I went travelling lor. Missed my appointment. I want to walk in and see u can or not"

.......the list goes on....
*************************************

Benjamin, thanks for coming down to have lunch with me at the hospital. Yes, U frigging owe me far too many meal treats.

I'm cured!

Heh heh, now I can breathe better. Look more alive after using Nasonex kindly given by the 'rhino' Doc.

**********************

Today I got a psychoAbnncheekorpek uncle said:" you're beri prettiiiii".
A moment ago, he was actually complaining to the clerk that this is the worst hospital that he ever come with the longest waiting time. It got really bad that the clerk had to ring me and let me know about the waiting time issue.
Even my assistant nurse got a shock to see how he mellowed himself down so much in front of me.

Seasonal rhinitis

I hate see a Dr for such condition. 99% of the time they always treat it as a viral infection or simple cold or flu.

I know I'm having a allergic rhinitis because:
- I've been having the symptoms (itchy palate, cough, throat irritation ...etc) for the past 7 days

- I don't have any fever or sore throat

- My symptoms worsens with cold enviroments

-I feel slightly better using my expired Nasonex

Now I'm deciding whether to see a ENT Dr or GP tomorrow...

Friday: Went to watch Dim Sum Dolly with KW. I probably have scared him off coz I ate so much in front of him.

Well, I was really hungry after the show.Hurhur.

Saturday: Went to Zouk with SM and LL. It feels great having to drink in a smoke-free zone. At least I don't get the stink on my hair and body afterwards. I was *again* coughing really badly as the air-con was in a full-blast mode at Winebar. After a few rounds of Martinis, the cough got better though. Guess 3 of us have set a record of having 11th round of Martinis from 9-1am.

Poor SM didn't handle her drinks quite well that she had to run to the toilet a few times performing "merlion" act. Afterwards, we walked over to Hongkong Cafe for some hot drinks plus supper. Gosh, the moment we mentioned the word 'food', SM felt nauseated and wanted to throw up again. Tsk*. I must say that she has improved so much of her drinking business. Usually one bottle of beer is good enough to make her sick.
And me, I think I've still got a bit of Australian- drinking blood in me ;)

drinks and more drinks

When you start feeling 'high', you start to wonder how high you really wanna get

SM can't help but to take pic of this sexy babe with perfect calves and muscle tone.

Crap!

A pt ,who was assisted by med social service , managed to gain finance approval in order to pay for her insoles fees. I got the cheque and the clerk was not able to process it. Since the pt was previously charged as an in-patient, no one seems to be able to help me to get the cheque processed. The assistant of med social service can only repeat "i don't know" as the answer despite the fact I've asked her who I can speak to for further. What the frigging hell. The 'head' of med social service rang up the nurse manager of my clinic and spoke to her about the problem. The fact is that I was really mad as the reason being we worked together under one roof but we are 2 different departments!
What has my patient's account got to do with anyone on the nursing side?
cb...

My phone kept on ringing consistently. Major disturbances between me and my patient's consultation. Wish my assistant can be more firm when answering phone call. Each time if it's a Dr who called up, she doesn't hesistate to pass the phone to me at once. Grrrrrrrrrr.......
It got so bad that I felt just annoyed. Again, the phone rang and I can't help but frowned my head and asked :"what is it this time?"
The assistant defended herself instantly and replied:" not me uh not me."
She thought I was pissed with her - I mean for fug sake. Don't you get frustrated when you are explaining something to the patient and has to side track in the middle of it to answer a call (unimportant). After the pt has left, I've tried to rationalise my so-called 'angry' behaviour to her and yet she insisted that I 'looked' angry and that's why she responded in such a uptight manner. Very knn......
What's worst, she even asked me to answer a phonecall from a Dr when I was treating an important client.

Whatever it is, i'm taking it easy. Rather than not having an assistant around.

Dr Dualokun sent a patient : On the referral form indicate X and his clinical notes indicate Y. Patient insisted want X treatment. No choice lor, give in to patient's request.
He was saying I looked like that Indian Idol's judge called Alisha Chinai.
I don't wanna be a ABNN lor!

Angry blog

I can't exactly remember when was the last time I threw into a fit of anger. I would have feel pissed or annoyed about certain things but not to the stage of blowing my top off .

However, when my stuffs get missing (for unknown reasons) or destroyed, I'm definitely pissed on fire.
Since my mom was away for a trip, my bro volunteered to do the laundry. It is only fair that he gets to do it since the rest of us were at work. I would expect he has basic knowledge in washing. Nope, the exact opposite happened. He dumped all the coloured clothes together with the whites.
Now I have to say thanks to him for destroying my expensive white vest plus a couple of other stained white tops. There are already 2 buckets in the laundry room. Quite obvious the white and coloured are seperated before hand.
I don't know if should continue to sponor his uni fees or not. The more he studies, the less common sense he has. Probably he just being ignorant.
I don't know what he is really good at. Besides going chalet, attending parties and drinking, he sounded more like a pest at home. He wakes up like frigging middle of the day and surfs online till the time he is going out to meet friends again.

Anyhow, I need to check on my white vest which I've been bleaching it since last night.

Run babey

I ran 5km with a bunch of disabled people who will be taking part in competitive marathons events coming up soon. They can run amazingly fast okay?!

Again before the run, I did quick check on their feet and footwear assessment as well.

It was all good.

***************

My mom misplaced my one and only running shorts in my brother's cupboard.
Pissed me off. My bro has got a small butt and how can she expect my bro to fit well into my shorts.

Next shopping list:
1) new glasses
2) new running shorts x 1 pair
3) running singlets
4) pumps - I don't know why but I can never find shoes that fits my feet in Singapore. ; (
Bata and other girlie shops are out of questions.

Motive or not

I've got a doc who recently caught up with me in regards about our patient's current treatment plan. So, it all began with a phonecall, followed by emails, smsing (mainly work related stuffs)
And today,we went for lunch for the 2nd time.

I was wondering.......

Is he trying to get me to see more of his patients and that's why he's been treating me so nicely.

*puzzled*

Out of town

Went for a gateway to KL over the weekend. Got home about 6pm. Caught the bus at Golden Mile (it's like a mini thailand in Singa) at 9pm to KL. Tour agency screwed up my hotel booking. I almost went beserk when they didn't even prepare my tour voucher before hand. At that moment, I wish I have the strength to overturn their furnitures (think about having Xmen's power) and break it into pieces.

M was a great companion for the trip. Bet those muscular arms of his must have caught the attention of some ladies and most men in Malaysia. Walking through the Petaling St markets was probably the worst experience for him. There's this Malay pacik went like :" Strong man, Singlet for you Sir. Come come, strong singlet." There is another pacik said like this: " Hye, mate, come on mate, Handbag for your wife/gf sir."
Gosh, those paciks just can't resist squeesing his arms. LOL
M felt he has been partially 'molested' then.

Met JC for lunch. Finally after all these years of keeping in touch, we met and chatted. And met again the following morning for breaky with 2 more new friends.

M and myself headed down to Aloha club on the Saturday night. M was thinking that since we were dressed up like a beach bum, there is no way the club can reject us. I looked so sloppy in my red Havanias, white skirt and a Zara dark pink shirt. Well, I suppose M being the ang moh, the club doesn't mind if he dressed down to the nines.
We ended up meeting a bunch of KL girls and boys and partied till 3am or 2am?

so tired la!

My beloved patient said .....

"I think this job not suitable for you lah. You should become a flight stewardess. Suits u more"

- Wow, this auntie enjoyed giving good career advice.

*****************

A senior Dr started dishing out sharp blades to patients so they can help themselves to remove the hard skin on their feet. I'm so frigging pisssed. So what the fug the Dr still refer the pts to me for what?
Contraindicated my job scope. Knncb.

No exercise

Of all the days in the week, why must it rain on weekends!? Means no rollerbalding or swimming or running.
Neber mind.
Saturday was rather busy for me.
Got paid to surf net the whole morning, sent my Aussie friend to the airport, followed by (window) shopping in Orchard with urchinstabber.
I've just subsidised 100% on my bro's fees. My friend commented that I could have get a number of Gucci bags lar for myself.
When the GST is increasing to 7% in July, I'll be paying more extra blings *sob*.
Not as if my pay is going to take a hike anyway.
A long-time friend from whom I've known in Perth text me if I wanna head down to Cannery. I thought I would have to give it a miss as I'm not keen paying cover charge to get into a club and drink.

Few hours later, my high school mates asked if I wanna head down to winebar. The best part of of the night was for every citibank cardholder, you pay 1 for 1 on the drinks whole night long. Woohoo!!
Left the club at 2am and saw a few Xiao didis (young boys) and Xiao mei meis (young ladies) puking along the road, Tsk tsk. How can they get piss until such state?? So xia suay man!( ultimately embrassing).

Toilet story

There was this ABNN lady ,who works at the clinic oppsite where I'm at, kaopeh at me. Wtf! She kaopeh-ed at me when I was in the middle of doing no.2.
KNNCCB!
She even questioned me that if I'm someone from record office. So what if I'm from record office which means I can't use the public toilet opposite my clinic is it??!!!?

How bizzare!!!!

If she disturbs me at again tomorrow when I'm using the toilet, I'll definitely ask how much she has paid for the toilet cubicle. Or should I throw a 20cent coin at her for using this toilet.

hmmm.........

********************
Frigging Dr Dua Lokun wants me to see his patient in again tomorrow just because he couldn't handle his 'princess' 's rubbish requests anymore.

FABulous weekend

:Saturday:

Peagirls and myself had an arrangement to be out for drinking at a local club. Was abit nerve-wrecking for a start as I know the peagirls (girls whom I've known from blogs) have already met one another. Friendships amongst themselves were pretty well-established prior my homecoming. I wasn't sure if I would feel rather odd or not for an instance.
I've not stepped into any clubs for ages in Singapore. So far I've given MOS's fashion bar a go.
That's pretty much about it. When age catches up, I find it more difficult to stay up till late and partay like what the youngthings are doing.
Madpot and her friend, Midori reminded me of those days where I always enjoyed clubbing with a gf. Just both of us dancing through the night with minimal drinking.
Ting and JD were like snoozing on the couch. Like what I've mentioned earlier, ages does catch up. Once in a while, we do need abit of rest before the energetic mood sets in.
I love the feeling of standing up on the platform doing the retro moves with FF and the girls. So synchronised and happening. "chugeder" ya know.
I didn't manage to snog anyone that night ;p
It was good fun still.
:Recuperating Sunday:
Not so really. Went swimming with bro and played basketball with his mates. Fanstastic opportunity to burn out those million of calories I've accumulated from the drinking session.
Mr Aussie asked me out for drinking at Clark Quay. Hate the idea of rejecting him but was too tired to hang out.

我的心声

Middle aged ladies are the toughest group of customers which I find it hard to handle sometimes. I feel totally drained especially after each consulation. No offence to the ladies who fall into such age gap.

They tend not to answer questions directly when asked.
Eg: When I ask if there's any specific pain on the foot, she will say like :" ya everywhere and all over my legs, back also. Sometimes the knees."

They tend to forget what they say.
Eg.
Me: I would think an xray will be necessary to rule out any other conditions on your feet.
SHE: Ya that would be better

*after xrays done

SHE: Aiyoh, why must wait for so long to know results. Must send for reporting immediately. Actually why I don't know why I need an xray leh.

Is there a necessity to kaopeh kaobu so much. Knn.

They like to ask questions over and over again.

SHE: I get the shoes first or insoles first. The shoes I have at home is normal one. Insoles looks so hard. Don't want to wear lah. But my foot still pain leh.How uh?

See, such patients always enjoy beating around the bush despite the fact that I've clearly explained the treatment plan.

What's worst. When they get confused, they refused to leave the clinic and think think think for a lonnnnnnnnnnnng time.

Let's recycle!

Since I've landed in Australia 7 years ago, I've been taught the importance of using a recycle bag for grocery shopping. Differentiate the rubbish from those recycle products vs non-recycled ones. In fact, it wasn't so much of hassel to do that.

Getting the idea of recycling in Singapore proves too much for the locals to handle. On the contrary, maybe I shouldn't be making such a generalised statement. Considering Singapore is a well-advanced and well-educated society, how can we not accept the concept of recycling easily? Don't we want our future generations to live in a less polluted enviroment ?

I can see what the enviroment department is doing its best by setting up recycle bins within reach of the locals. The million dollar question is: What is making the local people so reluctant to recycle?

Is it because they are lazy? Ignorant? Can't be bothered attitude? No time lah! - Singaporean's favourite excuse of all times.

Plastic bags in drink can recycle bin??

My assistant is a very good example of why she thinks recycling is not necessary.
She says:" I don't use air con, don't open fridge for too long. So that's ok what."

Me:" The amount of rubbish you dumped per day do take up space on our planet. So people get to incinerate those excessive rubbish and thus causing air pollution. If you and I don't think about recycling, your daughter's generations and after generations will have to pay for the price. Hence with on-going pollution, those thick black smoke will start to choke up their lungs. Quite sad that if million of others do think alike like you do."

My mom has set up a box solely for recycle glass and paper products at the kitchen area.

I've managed to grab a used- carton and placed it at my clinic for recycle purpose ; )
