Karma

Clinic was closed for half a day as the boss has organized a xmas luncheon for all the staffs. Receptionist has managed to put on a reservation at this Italian eating resturant sitting next to a lake. The ambience was fantastic and it would be a lot nicer if it was for dinner though. Guess all of us had too much wine in between. Say like 4 bottles of chardonnay shared among 6 people. Hurhur. And of course, as the blood alcohol increases, everyone starts to rattle abit more 'shit'. For instance, who would be really interested to know if your wifey has given you permission to go to a strip club. HE thought she was cool and having such an open minded wife. Geez, if I were her, don't even think about asking it unless I am dead. Wife said as long as he doesn't get a lappie move from the dancer and that would be fine. She means the hubby is allowed to do anything except a lap dance?? It's like me telling my husband like "hey honey, I am having a mass orgy with my mates tonight."-GROSS!!

Later, the girls except the wifey adjourned to the receptionist house for some girlie chats and coffee. We all chatted on some relationship matters. Think one can never get away from such topics especially when you are hanging out with a bunch of girls. They asked about my romance history. When I start reflecting on my previous relationship, it is Not that interesting after all. I had only one serious relationship in my whole entire life when I was 17. Till 3 years later, I decided to call it quits. No doubt he was the 'perfect' man, I didn't cry or feel sad after the breakup. The love just wasn't there anymore. From that day onwards, I know that I need a man who can motivate me, encourage me, someone whom I look upon and learn from him throughout my life. Someone who can respect me. He wasn't someone who can respect what I do in my job previously (as a nurse). Karma, probably is hitting on me right now. Since then, I have not gotten myself in any relationship.....that's like being single for the past 7 years -holy cow!
Flings come and go - not really my cuppa tea. And again, that would be another side of story.
Maybe I am putting myself in a difficult position too. I've been moving around quite a fair bit for the past few years. Frankly speaking, those eligible dudes whom I've met so far got very turn off each time when I tell them that I am working in Oz. Not many people wouldn't have agree with LDR and that's understandable. Or is it the karma befalling on me??

Muacksxx

I've been receiving Merry Christmas kisses from my female fans (elderly folks) out there. hee hee, so sweet of them!!!
I'm feeling rather lethargic the whole of today.Perhaps have not recovered much from my last weekend party. More Xmas lunches on this week.
Think that I gotta swim a few more laps than usual.
Tomorrow is cheap movie day. Wondering what I should watch....hmm...

*Saturday: Love the bondi beach

Essentials:
Nivea SPF 30, Lip Sunblock SPF 15, beach bag, thongs(flip flops), shorts, bathers, sunnies, water, and ogle at guys in orange speedos if any.

Had a wonderful time at the beach with girlfriends. Had steak/chips for lunch, Sache (chocolate) cake for dessert with ice coffee, BBQ chicken/roast duck with side order pak choy in osyter sauce for dinner.Lots of 'bitching' and updates on our conversations.Hurhur.

* Sunday: My gay dude is in town

It wasn't planned at all depsite the fact that he did mention that he would ring me after touched down at the airport. Was scrubbing the floor when he rang. Damn, by the time I've hung up, I've got like 20mins to get ready so that I can catch a bus to city. Bathe in my fastest speed, some concealer on face, lipbalm, removed the yellow hairband and let down my hair. Pump out a ball of mousse for more definition curls. Grabbed a short mini white skirt and for a moment, I was confused what to wear with. Anyhow, thinking that I can't afford to miss the bus, I picked on a grey singlet. Dashed to my car and drove to the bus stop. Stupid P(passed) plate driver who basically taking his own sweet time to pick a car park spot.Yeah dude,I supposed it was really difficult to chose a beautiful parking spot despite the fact that the carpark is quite empty.
Next, once I've parked my car, saw the bus was already at the bus stop. *fffug!!*
In regardless of my 'image'. I sprinted down probably about 50m and guess this is my lucky day. The driver did wait for me to get on the bus. woohoo!Soo cool man that bus driver.
Met my gay dude at Hilton and we had Taiwanese eat out. On our way there, we saw this really amusing protests on the street. So bo liao...

Getting the groove (with the gays)

This weekend is slightly different for the past mutiple weekends I had in Sydney. The groove began on Friday evening. Drove home asap after work. Had a shower when Donny rang to ask where I am. Told him that I need at least 45mins to get to city as I would give him a buzz once I get there. Packed stuffs and left my car at a shopping mall carpark. Walked to the bustop where the driver was driving at an incredible speed thus, taking only less than half an hour to get there. Walked up to Surry Hill where the party took place at D's friend's home. Got there in time to have some rice and braised duck AND beef redang. Superbly delicious meal.
Finally! I got to meet Roman(D's gay partner) from Switzeland since our last encounter approximately 5 years ago. Along with Roman, there is Stef - a gay too and the cute looking straight lass, Mario are all Swiss. The Swiss folks are taking the opportunity to travel around Oz prior attending Donny's graduation on this coming Monday.
D's friend and his partner stayed in this ultra nice zen apartment style with an amazing overlooking view of the harbour bridge and city itself.
I was abit anxious at first as I do not know a lot of people there. Followed by a few glasses of sparkling shiraz, I became more relax while enjoying the chat with others.
Donny and rest are expected to make a move up to Brisbane early next morning. Party ended at 1am as Donny also started to complain that he's feeling abit nausea from the excessive wine intake. So we parted and exchanged kisses with the hosts.By the way, what I observed that the gays are truly affectionate/passionate people.Heh.

Took about at least 20mins walk to their service apartment. Along the way, we grabbed some Hungary Jacks which Donny still complain of feeling nauseous while eating his burger half way through. I was entertained by Stef and Mario simultaneouly when we continued our walking again.

Reached the apartment, I totally concussed on the bed till the next morning. My body simply refused to get off the bed. Just feel that i need to put in great effort of pull myself up. ...o_0
Had a shower and met Donny's future mom-in-law who doesn't speak English except German.
Packed stuff , checked out.Took some pics with Donny and unfortunately not with Mario at all. Orrrrrr..............
Roman was kind enough to give me a lift to Cirular Quay to meet up the girls for beach outing. I am so char dar (tanned) now.
Pose a few nice pics at the beach too..... ;p

Off to bed now....too tired.....

Will my real honey please stand up!?

Kindness

Kindness is most important in a boyfriend/girlfriend. You want someone who will go through everything with you - the best moments and the worst, and all of those other moments in between. You love to be able to say anything to your partner, and have them say anything to you. You are able to be extremely close with your partner for that reason.

"Why must I pay?"

It was one of those 'acting' blondes with orangy wrinkled (tanned) skin patient was saying the above sentence.
She came in for her insoles check and at the same time also complained of some tenderness on left foot.
She needs to pay for a consulation because:

1) Her insoles are adjusted and extra accessories are posted on it too.

2) Advice (icing, reduce activity level ..etc) given in terms of managing the tenderness on left foot.

3) Gait analysis-hello auntie, I do consider as part of my assessment on your insoles check.

4) Muscle testing - Ahh, I can see that when you starts to invert (rolling out) your ankle, your foot starts to hurt...hmmmm..

All these above have taken a standard of 30mins consultation. What could be a better reason for not paying up? BEECH!!

Hey!I've just learnt a new song by Akon from the radio while driving on my way to work this morning.

" Hey ladies, drop it down, just wanna see you touch the ground.
Don't be shy girl Go Bananza
Shake your body like a belly dancer.

Yo, excuse me, beg your pardon girl
Do you have any idea what you starting girl
You got me tingiling, come to me mingiling
Steppin off lookin bootylicious and jingiling "

Ok that's all I can remember. hurhur! Speaking of which, I used to like to do the rap of Jump by Kris Cross.

I miss karaoke.....

Orientation not so Ole

Had an orientation going on at this XXX hospital. As far as I know that orientation can never be fun but ultra boring. I am bored stiff to the max plus having the big P doesn't help me to keep still. I must admit more than half of the time I was drawing doodles on the papers. I am also that kind of person who usually listens rather than 'staring' at lecturers giving the talks.
Anyhow, I decided to skip the last part of the program today as it is si beh boring. BORING *ROARRR*
A massive crash happened on one of those junctions while driving back home. Thus, this huge accident resulted all the cars got detoured- YES,it took me more than an hour to get home on the slow stop and start motion drive.
* no energy to roar*

I need heat pack....but Cityangel said cold pack better...

Sunday Special

I am typing this because I am PMSing. First, the laundry line broke into two.*KNN
Next, the swimming pool was closed when I got there. Since my face can't take on any harsh sunlight ( due to taking Roaccutane), thinking that it may be a wise decision to swim in the late evening instead. Means no tan no work out= not fit! *ROARRRR*
In addition, I bought a Vaccum cleaner from Kmart, there are some parts missing in the box. *feeling ultimate crossed*ROARRRRR somemore*

Xmas checklist:

1) Vaccum Cleaner
2) Clinque blusher which I've been using for the last 10 years.
3) IPOD mini - think have to postpone to March (my burfday wor)
4) Levis Jeans - It's about time for another pair since my last pair which I got it when I was 21.
5) Radiology book on foot and ankle- cost like AUD200++
6) Hair dryer
7) Web cam and a mic - then I can 'skype' with family and friends

I miss PERTH!

That's besides the point. Each Xmas in Perth, my mom would fly over from Singapore to join my friends for potluck and the beeaaaaccchh. Gosh, I miss the beach soooo much!! On Xmas day itself, that place is flooded with loads of cute hunks and hot babes.

This year, I got an invitation from a fellow colleague for a xmas eve's dinner party. She said we'll have prawns and heaps of bons bons. hurhur. Another workplace auntie is going to bring me to the city for some live shows next week. Well, after all, I guess there are still nice people out there who do care for me ;p

Student placement - Got a 1st year pod student came in for a 2-day placement at the hospital. Since the other pod wasn't interested in taking her for the clinic, I took her in to see my patients. I recalled having my 1st placement wasn't really helping me at all. NO one seems to be telling me how things should be done or taken note of. What's the better way of handling the instruments and how I should be aware of my body mechanics when treating the patients. Pods tend to hunch a lot when sitting down to give treatments. So I asked what she has learnt for the past few placements. She replied:" oh I was told not to 'turtle' a lot with my neck." I burst into laughter coz that's just soo true. I would think it is important to set a very basic foundation for the 1st year so they would be practising with more confident as they progress through the years.

Off to shopping now....

Xmas tree

Standing at 90cm tall, I got my very own first xmas tree from the local Kmart store. The theme for the tree is red bulb- looking balls and gold glitters. The power of batteries my digicam are almost gone and thus, resulting in weak flash. The tree does look nice as compared to the picture taken. Now all I need is erm...presents to be put under the tree.

My fellow colleague has extended her invitation to me if I would like to join her family for x'mas dinner on the eve itself. So nice worr...... Sigh* think I am giving people the impression that this year's xmas I will be super lonely and pathetic. I'll survived, of course, with a nice turkey dinner plus few glasses of champagne.Enjoying the peace and serenity on this festive season isn't that bad as one would think.

Can't wait for the weekend to come. Apparently the weather will be nice enough that I am able to clad in my bathers for a beach outing. Can do some eye candy on the surfer dudes too.*yummy*

My patients are soo lovely today. Those lovely aunties giving a peck on my cheek to remind me to enjoy the christmas no matter what. *healt melts*

Mr L came into the clinic as usual to have his feet checked. He was very pale-looking but not scawny. Currently he is battling with his pelvic/prostate cancer and due to have his last dose of chemotherapy next week. Mr L has never failed to lose his sense of humour even his illness faces the darkest hour. He said this in his lively tone:" I've lived a good life. What's there to worry about even when one gets sick. When it's time to go, I'm all set to go." I am truly inspired by Mr L's positive mindset.

I wanna ROARRRRRR*

Cannot tahan (endure) the hospital system man. Seriously cannot make it. To think that this is a highly cosmopolitian city but in terms of health care wise*nods head*
WHY?

1) Parking - Very limited for the staffs and visitors. I know from the receptionist that one hospital even charge $6 bucks flat rate just for car parking. How ridiculous is that. So let's just say that I wanna pass some stuffs to my relatives. I'll be paying extra 6 bucks just to hand over the stuffs. What the?? Also, if you happened to be late for work, you can also say goodbye to the carpark lots.

2) The dodgy looking hospital - take the place for instance where I'm working now. Every morning when I step into the 'house' (yes it is a house looking department with a zinc roof top), that place just stenched with a certain kind of odour. The carpet doesn't seemed to be cleaned for ages and the wooden walls remind me of my Grandma's kampong house in JB. To say it in an awful way, it may collapse at anytime *CHOY* *CHOY* (touchwood).

3) Job scope - Sigh* I thought the time has allocated nicely for each patient.BUT, ME gotta scrub and rinse those instruments after used on every patients. Plus, pack in a square cloth before wrapped it into a paper autoclave bag. What the?? Am I not being busy enough or what?? I don't understand why the dept can't make use of the CSSD (sterilising unit for instruments). There's more! We are also assigned to clean up the autoclave machines by following the protocols as stated.

I think the whole system or even the dept itself need to be seriously reformed man......

Happy and sad notes

On the sad note:
I've been taking this anti acne drug for the past 2 months and for the last 2 months, the dermatologist has increased the dosage. Something happened like last Thursday. I can't be bothered going to work. I was moody and tired and felt utterly irriated without a reason. Sure enough, I was late for work for half an hour and my colleague busted at me.Boss was on maternity leave so she doesn't know about anything at all. This wasn't me and why the hell I was feeling like shi*. I can't comprehend myself at a certain point. All I want is to get home to rest after work. On my mind, I was thinking could it be the side effect of the drug which I am taking? The information leaflet of the drug did state down mood change as part of side effects for one taking the medicine. I don't believe/denied that it may have hit on me. Other part of my mind is convincing me that this isn't happening to me or probably I am just feeling down on a typical morning in a harmless way. I don't wish the whole hospital knows that I am taking the meds. Why should they know in the first place? However, my plan is to see the dermato Dr again. It would be helpful if he can write a letter for my boss in charge to explain how this should affect my work to a certain extend. I don't feel suicidal please and all I can say is, mood change is the more appropriate word to describe me.

Nonetheless, after such big hoo haa busted scene, Anita rang me from SG to cheer me up. Definitely brighten up the rest of my day.

On the happier note:
I received a letter from my sponored child! I am soo soo soo happy when I got the letter in the morning. His family speaks Kihaya as part of their local language and Kiswahili is the national language. Heh to think that they got their own dialects like the chinese do.
At least I know he likes ball games, running and writing and maths. So I feel I've put the money into good use for giving him a chance on education. The letter which I've received was translated into English from Kihaya. Ed is my inspiration and like I said, he will always remind me that I am living in a much better world than he does so I gotta stop complaining! hurhur

My very own idea of proposal

If I ever ever being proposed by a man (IF , that is), he will not get away simply by asking me:" will you marry me?" Now times have changed and this is not exceptional. He ought to give me a damnx100 good reason on why he deserves me so much.
Heh heh.
Nowadays, I've noticed quite a number of ladies can get quite overwhelmed easily whenever their dudes presented them with a whatever carat diamond and proposed. True enough, said is easier than done.
It would be really unfortunate if the girl has accepted the ring and starts thinking later if he is the one in her life.
Tsk tsk.

This blog is soo lame. Weather is going to be sux this weekend again..which means.....no beach!
BOOHOO*

Jingle bell Jingle Bell Jingle Bell rock but this year..it may not ROCK so much... ...

One super hot afternoon, I decided to write some Christmas cards to my friends around the world. After buying 10 cards, I guess I still need another 10 to go..duh* making double trip to the shops on 2 consecutive days. ANYHOW, anyone or'blog fan' out there would like a xmas card from me, feel free to email ya addy ( you may choose to put down initials for privacy matters and likewise I would do the same.). To me, Christmas is always a good time to care and share with friends (far and near).
This Christmas would *probably be the most most pathetic one I've ever had in Oz. Usually my mom would come during the Xmas season to visit me in Perth. And again, I was supposed to go to Rockhamption -North Queensland for a getaway but my gf's dad is rocking up there too.
Our plan of going Whitsunday Coast for some candy eye on surfer dudes is pretty much dashed!!
What to do... ...

Maybe I will get a mini turkey roast and some bottles of Hoeegarden in fridge to beat the summer heat as well. And stuffed myself with food while surfing online. BOOHOO*

I feel like singing Whitney Houston's I"M EVERY WOMAN...I"M EVERY WOMAN......

I need to get clinque's blusher in Smoldering plum colour- I swear using that ever since I was 17. That was like almost a decade ago.....Christ!

Xmas list (draft copy)

Pic: This is the workshop at the clinic. Custom made orthotics (insoles) are made here with a lot of manpower involved. Sometimes I grind a lot of hard polypropene or EVA stuffs and also getting in touch with heatgun plus super glue. Hey check out who is the handy grrrl here.

All I want for Xmas (draft):
1) IPOD mini
2) Hair Dryer - the one which I got now has a very loooose nozzel head.
3) A handbag that never goes out of style ( Seriously, I am that kind of girl who hates handbag. So I rather get one which lasts and able to use it on all occasions). I saw that DKNY one....
4) Postcards around the world....Come on, anyone can do that! Ask for my address!
5) Sugar daddy ( apparently this wish has been granted much earlier than I expected....Hor, Dr Vagus?? ;p)
6) SK2 beauty stuffs - my patient swears using this but it's bloody ex!

Bus lineup!

This is the one and only bus that goes my housing area. What I usually do is to park the car near the bus stop and get a bus transport to the city. Toll and car park fees can burnt through your pockets here in Sydney. The good thing about the civilians here is they know to Q up for the bus...unlike back home, I always get squeesed by those si beh kiasu (English translate " being over panicky for nothing") aunties or ah peks who can't wait to get one of their feet step up onto the bus.

My favourite Irish lady patient came in few days ago to the clinic. She has got such a pleasant personality that you never fail to enjoy a good chat with her. She knows about my encounter with an Irishman few years ago. Each time as she walked through the clinic, she often humours me that if I ever heard of that Mr Irish. And of course, I replied that if he ever writes to me, that would be a miracle. Allelujah!
What I have now it's only memories lingering on my mind. Who knows, it may gradually fade away as the years go by. Or perhaps, I can't even remember anything when I get to 60, 70 or even 80.Unless I suffered from early dementia *TOUCH WOOD*
Now, the focus of my life is to earn as much bling bling as possible to put my bro through the uni, taking care of myself, doing my distance running at least 2 times a week, keeping in touch with my friends and African sponsored child, Ed.

I went to the mall and walked past this pet shop. Male mice on sale. From AU$8.99 reduced to $3.99. So tempting to get one..then again as if i know how to take care of them ;p I need an animal companion!! Rented property doesn't allow animals though.

*note: Sugar Daddy Vagus, you confirming to be my one? or not?

Weekend recap

Last Friday, it has been such a loooong time that I went out at night to have a nice decent dinner with a couple of girlfriends. So we settled on having wood fried pizza and a large caesar salad. Conversations were the usuals. For them , they often talked mainly on studies, research, and next holidays. That's pretty sum up the life of being a student.

Spent the whole Saturday walking around the city and watched an Imax film. I am thinking to catch the one about Egypt next weekend.Supposed to wait for a call from a Brisbane buddy.Well, it seemed he was quite caught up with his friend plus party life. I'll leave him on that then. I need to stop shopping.....gosh I just have to keep myelf occupied on the weekends especially. I've thought of taking up scubadiving again. Geez, would you pay up to 200 bucks for just a 30min dive at the aquarium? Not unless I am desperate.
I do longed for the time to be home, to be with friends/family, to do my diving, to watch movies with friends,...etc..the list shall go on. There will be a time that I'll be home soon. Very soon...

Woke up on Sunday in the late morning. I was probably in the semi concious state. I had a recap of what happened between me and M in my so called 'dream'. Never would I even think of getting close to him. Maybe I'm just being overly nice. This is me and I am not gonna change it.
I missed him though- he's someone whom I can talk with at ease...aiya am i thinking too much here?!

Why the fees in Singapore Uni is getting sooo expensive? Think I am going bankrupt very soon after paying off my bro's fees. sigh* All I want for Christmas is a Good O' sugar daddy... ...

What my patients have said to me today (edited version)

Scenerio 1:
This 90 year old granny proudly announced that she is celebrating her 91 yo birthday in the coming January. "See, it's not fun getting old," as she commented. " I'm not young like you anymore, you got a good figure and very pretty too."
"Oh thanks Mrs Xxx, I'm so flattered," I replied with a wide grin on my face.
" You shouldn't be. This is the truth." Wah Mrs Xxx certainly made my day. *hops around*
Scenerio 2:
Old man to receptionist: " oh you giving me that new girl (that's me) again?? I didn't like the way she cut my toes."
Receptionist to me:" Mr Grumpy is bit fussy. He hasn't got any ulcers and not sure exactly what's the wuss about."
Old man with ? lover came to the clinic and I provided the treatment likewise as I treated with the rest of my patients.
Old man to receptionsist: " She's very good, very gentle."
*duh*
Scenerio 3:
Man with smelly ulcers to Receptionist:" She's very good. Gotta keep her here!"
I wish I can tell that man that only his ulcers interest me...

SO fun!

See that little patch close to those instruments? That's actually a piece of ingrown toenail which I've removed on patient's big toe.

I guess this is the main excitement for today's work. I've been a good girl as I went running today. I guess I would have gone to take a nap after work. I'll not be surprised if I start to notice my a** would start getting bigger without exercising.

Tomorrow I shall make myself happy going to the city and watch a film at IMAX theatre.

*6months more back to SG for holiday!! * A little too early for countdown? Who cares.

I hate to think that as each minute passes by can be so depressing for me....

Not so happening Sunday

I bought these chocs from the Scots festival last weekend. One of the choc bars said "it's not for girls." How bias is that. Anyway, I still buy it and it's very yummy.Who cares if it's meant for guys only.

Weather sux on weekend as usual. Wet and gloomy is the forecast for today.I douch know what I'll be doing today really... *eyes roll up*

*SCREAMS*

By the way, why do the blondies like to tan their skin until orangy colour? I mean, why try so hard if your skin doesn't allow that to happen. That is always the option of using fake tan lotions/sprays/gels to cater for your brown needs. No wonder the skin cancer rate is going sky high here... tsk tsk.

Hot babe check 1 2 3

My bro dressed up as a chinese vampire for the Halloween partay at Zouk last Monday. He sure got himself a good deal of this drop dead gorgeous 'fallen angle'.

I can't sleep tonight as I've taken a nap right after work. Obviously I am super wide awake.

I spoke to M over MSN and she told me one of the local hospitals offered me 3k a month if I wanna take up the job. I was utterly disgusted by that figure. Look, I just don't go to uni for another 3 years to get a pay rise of 1k more than my previous nursing pay. Podiatry is such a specialised area that each university has only a(estimate) maximum intake is 20 students. Of course, there may be some students drop out along the way. In short, there is still inadequate supply of pods needed in Oz. Unfortunately, it appears to me that that local hospital may be more concerned about their budget rather than thinking for patients who are in need of prompt treatment on their rotting feet. What a shame.

I hope the HR will read my CV correctly. I am very sure I've got what it takes on my job.*not boosting here but the truth is I've got 2BScs, 7 years nursing experiences, overseas experiences on various settings/clinics, qualified bar cert, scubadiving licence, and now doing my continuing education to attain as an accredited pod (as recognised by the association). On the other hand, I hope the HR- minded people would start flipping pages on lower limb mechanics and foot pathology.Don't just think that because I am a local and you can exploiting the local talent. IF my qualifications and experiences are not good enough, then make a list out on what is considered 'good' or not.
I am not going back to earn peanuts if I have a choice. I don't see the need to compromise at all. In health care industry, it's not just about qualifications as gaining the amount of experiences are equally important. Therefore I need(to continue) to prove myself till they can't give any excuse for such lousy pay.

Accountant Blues

The previous accountant rang me today and he was really furious when I told him that I've swapped another accountant with better service. He said I should have consulted him before hand. What the shi*. And he is now threatening me with a solicitor letter for not paying his fees (1350AU). I verberlized that he did not being honest in his fees in the first place and he rebuked back saying that "well , you didn't ask."
CB!!!!!!!!!!!! x100times.

Look, I can chose to make a complaint to fair trading office or pay him on the lousy quality work done. However, if i decide to make a complaint, it will take about 20days where the fair trading officers would be middleman to try and resolve the issue between us.

So would you choose to pay the full amount or fight till the end?
I am quite tired of fighting this battle alone... ...Seriously, I hope he will crush and burn in hell.

Scotts festival

What a shame that it rained yesterday at the annual scottish highland gathering. This is one of the pics that I've captured with the 'band' performing for a competition. Check out that lady's guranteed waterproof PVC white boots. Sure they are made for walking.

I saw a stall selling haggies! Heard from VN is actually a type of mince from lamb stomach?! *burp* Wanted to try it but there wasn't any dry seat or table due to the rain. Plus carrying an umbrella doesn't really help much. I went over the other stall and bought some chocs. That scott uncle saw me wearing a pair of thongs and asked if my feet are cold. Uncle obviously didn't check weather report. The maximum temperature was 23 degree celsius on that day though.

Sigh* count down to 14months for home. Was chatting with Kenneth over MSN yesterday. We can't wait to meet in Singapore for a piss nightout at Balaclava. To come to think of it, I am quite blessed by a number of friends whom I can always rely on and enjoy a good time with them.

My 1st post to sponsored child

Stickers are for Ed's birthday coming in November. I'm writing him a postcard from Syd too and hopefully he will enjoy this 'mini' present from me. *his pic can't be revealed online for privacy reasons*

Why the weather on the weekends are always gloomy one...... si beh sian. Tomorrow I am going for a scottish carnival near my place.

That CB accountant kept ringing my work place.Ever since he was informed by me on the multiple mistakes he made on calculation while attempted to change my personal details as well, I decided to ignore his exsistence. But my bet is he will try to screw some money out of me despite the work was done incorrectly. He would think I should as last pay for his service. I was telling Shan that if I ever give him a cent, that's because I take pity of him that he has to resort such dishonesty on his work in order to earn the income for his family. I've ever thought of throwing the money on the floor for him to pick it up. Then again, I thought it was quite an unglamourous thing to do since he is a disabled. I am beginning to find Syd very boring...maybe I have not had many friends. Not sure how long I would last here.. ...

Daylight savings

Damn pissed that I cannot upload some very beautiful images of myself on the blog. *cough*
No plans for tomorrow except I know I gotta stop my shopping mode. Move most of the winter clothes into the boxes as summer is drawing closer. Now I am an hour faster compared to the time in SG.

What's new:
1) the latex gloves are irritating my hands every now and then.

2) Ireland Vs Australia Footy game on tv now. Sigh* reminds me of HIM again *pui pui pui* It's been almost 2 years and I wonder how he is doing.

3) Bought a new Billabong blue leather 70s sports bag.

4) I wrote a postcard to my sponsored child and I got some cute glittering animal stickers for him on his coming birthday.

Now I can flaunt my hair...with style.

As requested by some readers out there who are curious on my new hairstyle, there you go with the pic. Heh, I hate to expose myself on the blog lah. And also being a shy person like me doesn't really help either. *cough cough*
My patients like my new hairdo. HEE. The English lady (as one of my patients) came in to have her feet treated. She's one of the most most gorgeous lady who never failed to shower me lots of care and concern. She ensures that I know where to get a decent place to stay prior the move from western state. She always said she will pray for me to get a 'man' soon - that's must be a joke. I would suggest if only she can pray that men who are only interested in sex to stay far away from me. *eyes roll up*

Here comes the real bitching:

I got a lady coming in who needed a pair of orthotics and her nails done. So after taking the general history and doing the nails, there is no way I can spend extra done for casting. So I suggest that she should make another appointment whenever she can. She gave an ok and will make an appointment at the reception. I'm totally overwhelmed by the reception-ist(boss's wifey) incompetent to simple instructions - " can you make another appointment for her on casting?". After the patient has left, she said patient didn't make any. COME ON. You should ask the patient when is she avaliable for the next appointment and not wait till patient to ask instead!!?!! I am flaring up in my heart...I need a glass of coke to cool me down. As you see, I'm paid more with the orthotic therapy. She spells the patients' names incorrectly. Got the name wrongly on appointment book. Sounds jia-lat ( horrendous).

Swim, Jacuzzi and Sauna...ahhhhhhhh

Sports conference went well except for a few long-winded speakers. Today's conference is held in the nice looking fitness centre. Towards the end of the conference, all delegates are allowed to use the onsite facilities. Wah, the suana shiok man. It's been a long time I went for a suana. Reminded me of the days where I often go to the country club in Singapore.
Back on the conference issue, I really don't understand why this ang moh uncle like don't how to switch off his mobile phone during the talk. Gees, I don't wish to label him anything but I hope he is not a bloody retard to undersand simple manners!?
Not only his mobile rang a few times, so does his text message beeps. WTF?? Annoys me and I really wish someone can smash his phone into pieces.
Unless he hasn't got the slightest clue of where the vibrate mode is.
DUH*

WOOHOO!! I can't wait I just can't wait to cut my hair. *do the hussel!!*

Tomorrow

No sleep in for me tomorrow as I'll be attending a sports trainer conference then.Best part is all delegates will get to use the healthspa facilities throughout the wholeday at the conference.

Sigh* I need to be more discipline on my continuing education. I should be reading a bit more than I should on those hopelessly romance novels (I'm an ultra fan of Nicholas Sparks). I should stop being a lazy ass!Grrr......

I am desperate for a haircut. I feel as though my head is growing weeds instead.

Stickers

So bored at work place. No interesting cases at the clinic, no interesting colleagues to talk to. I just feel so damn bored. Oh, lousy magazines at the waiting room too.
That's why I got literally nothing to blog man!!!
The only interesting day of the week is Thursday where I work at a public hospital. Besides my dearest male colleague in crime ( yeah we bullshit a lot), patients always ask funny (rather silly) questions like:" do you come from China? My cousin married to a beijing girl."
Please lor, Uncle, I'm Asian doesn't mean I come from China. Plus China is miles away from Singapore. Uncle continued:" Asians are really smart people."
Depending on each individual's pespective, somehow I find the comment very strange and also very bo liao.

Now, here come the biggest news of 2005.
I've just sponsored a child from Africa!! So the only way I can communicate with him is by writing a postcard and sending inexpensive items like stickers. Therefore, I plan to do some shopping on football or animal stickers.
Apparently, he loves playing soccer. I think I need some motivation in my life generally.
Sydney is supposed to be one of the most livest city in Australia and yet the thing is I am staying in a nice but secluded suburb. Hence, si beh no life. Work, run, shower, cook, sleep (what a routine).
So when I think of my sponored child, he will indirectly be the source of my motivation plus putting a constant reminder in my head that I am living in a much better world than him.

Stuck in the 80s?

That glasses actually belongs to the b0ss. I bet she hasn't changed her glasses for the past 20 years and if you look closer, there are some mould forming around the nasal cushions.Gross!! Probably the built up is also enhanced by frequent drilling of toenails that get trapped there. And WHO knows, those areas may be cultivating fungal growth... ... *oh no I feel like puking out my choc pocky sticks.

Nonetheless, 80s is always my favourite era. That's why I can't get enough of mambo parties and with songs by the bangles, Duran Duran, Debbie Gibson, Bananarama, Sheena Easton, Cyndi Luper, Bros , Pet Shop Boys and the list goes on... ...Sigh* I feel so stagnant here.No party, no booze and no one to go out with. I'll never forget those bagpackers night out which I usually go on every Tuesday in Perth.Free food, free entry, free drink and free dudes to watch from all nationalities.

Can't wait to have my hair revamp this weekend.

What a change!

Yesterday the clinic was as dead as the silence night.Today, it becomes alive and busted with patients. Finally, I can't stand working in a place that it's too slow in progress. Had a nail surgery done today. The receptionist (part time) was quite blurr. How can she not gave patient the original letter which i've written for the GP instead giving the photocopied one. *ah duh*

******

Do you believe a person's character can change overnight? Or rather is it because the way how they react is being under the influence of difficult circumstances? I got a job offer from SG and apparently HIM has quit from the hospital and now they are looking for someone to replace. I haven't thought about him for quite sometime until I received the job mail today.Such a shame we don't communicate anymore for that's the road he has chosen to be. Deep at the bottom of my heart, I wish he will cope well on tougher times like this. He may have hurt me so much but that can't be compared to his family 'sufferings' (ok, just trying to be indirect).

******
I asked VN if she would ever marry someone without University qualification? She will as she replied. And I will too. For as many guys I've met here, smart guys may not exist at the uni only. There are a lot of hardworking and humble guys (which I believe) who would know a lot of things out of the textbooks. And still, they are able to make their ways through. So, who knows, I may be marrying a cattle baron or a cute electrician or suave mechanic boy. No doubt I prefer a Mr Handyman though.

I'll miss my blog as I'll be leaving for Melbourne till Sunday.

Pissed Episode

Gosh, I think I can call myself being Miss Piss or Miss Pissy...whatever.
This time round the piss was caused by a patient's daughter. I was kind enought to provide a home visit for this patient. Being me, I was more concerned about getting her feet treated rather than minding of the low payment for a house call. Anyhow, I informed the patient's daughter that I would need a XX referral voucher from the Dr or else I can't claim any money from the XX department for the service provided.
"yes yes I will do that." as stated by HER.
It shouldn't take too long for a Dr to sign up a voucher. So I rang her today and asked if there is any reason that I am not getting the voucher on time.
Her excuses were awfully making me irritated to the max that I feel like screaming (like how I did to that CB accountant) to her.

" You know, it's hard to get the Drs to do the referral. "

What kind of excuse is that?

" But i remember that I did give you the referral before at the clinic"

Now she is trying to change the story , I see. For f*ck's sake, it probably would only take a Dr less than 30 secs to fill up 1/4 of an A4 size paper.
Can't stand any of her nonsensical rubbish, I told her that no matter what I want the referral by this week for the service that has provided almost 3 weeks ago. Can't stand people who made excuses after another. Why people just can't do the right thing and make things easier for themselves. What the fugged woman.

I am gonna ring the GP and check it up myself. Don't know why, I am beginning to find the people in Syd sux big time..for the majority I've met so far.

I'm upset/I'm dissappointed/I'm pissed

He didn't called me ever since got back from Sydney. Miracle. He rang me today. Asking me how I am.
' Ok, I'm fine.'
HE:" Just wanna let you know that I will not call you as often anymore because the phone bills is very expensive.'

'ok lor' (*eyes roll up*) Why are you telling me this for?'

HE:' no, I am just letting you know.'

' ok, anyway, since you called, I hope you can draw a line for your family and work. It seems to be that you are not spending enough time for the family.'

HE:' you don't understand.'

'What I do not understand? I am taking the chance to tell you now.Everyone in family is complaining that to me. Whether I am at home or not, the usual complain always start from you.'

HE:' ok, you take care of yourself and don't let me worry you.'

Me (ponders to self): Since when I let you worrying about me.

Lizzy's view on men

Don't be shocked Liz! Just wanna take this opportunity to continue from here on my own point of views on Singapore men or men in general. It is true that I can't stand men:

1) who are petty on nitty gritty stuffs (from my own experiences);
2) who whinge (thought only girlies do that);
3) who don't respect women ( some dudes are just pissed because they don't get what they wanted);
4) who have 'unknowingly' digusted habits (for goodness sake, stop digging that nose and avoid touch my stuffs with your last or second finger please)
5) who are OTT (over your 'fugging' top)
6) who has poor personal hygiene
7) who ask stupid questions ( not citing example here , it proves too much of an idoit who asked me this ridiculed question)

Again, readers are reminded that this is my blog where I'll be free to speak from my own views. Add your 2 cents or 5 cents worth on my tag board lah. I don't charge, it's free.

I hope my poor bro could cope with the bag where he is gonna meet my friend to collect it. Morever , the handles of the bag have already broke.....Think he probably has to be like an Indian to carry the stuff on top of his head. Well, I somehow feel 'regret' troubling people to do things for me. If only I didn't ask, then bro wouldn't waste his time to go far plus persuade my dad to lend him the car.*sigh* ;(

Upgrading needed at clinic

I find that my boss is having a lavish lifestyle with his wifey. A big new house, posh sports car, a family car and having desighed wears. Not I am jealous over here but there are certainly lotsa things to be done at the clinic for the benefit of patients at least.

1) I need a proper carrier bag! This is easy for patient who come in to collect their heavy casts of their feet. Very often they often have to carry it by hand. I got an old man coming today with an unstable gait. How is he gonna regain his balance when walking while on the other hand, he gotta carry those casts on his hands.

2) New drill set needed. The parts are falling apart!

3) More footcare/diabetes information phamplets

4) New paint- the clinic looks too cool with dull baby blue colours

******************
I find someone is abit overboard when asking certain questions or requests that I have to stand up to draw the line across. That's the best way I guess if not people will just try to be OTT of ya head.

******************

I got a postcard from Dublin - a virtualtourist friend. Reminds me of that Irish dude from Rosslare. I still miss him... .... no one has ever taken my breath away so much. He treated me with respect that I needed but timing wasn't right in the first place.
Talking about Ireland, I had a patient from Wicklow came in yesterday. Such a jovial and pleasant lady. I told her about my encounter with Irish dude. She thought I was only 20 yo. Heh, so happy with glee. Well, she said you never know the next time when I see you in 6 weeks' time, you would be hook up with someone.
Beri funny indeed.

Irritated (Bonus blog)

My bro is sorta like the middle man between my dad and myself. And he hated it to max being like a communicator between both of us. Dad stopped calling me ever since I got back to Sydney. He always has been the main stressor for each time I go back to Singapore for visiting. I can't stand his temper as I grow up. In fact, it should be the other way round isn' it? He gets ridiculously worked up for small stuffs and stuffs probably not worth the time to be pissed about. Bro has been trying to get me to ring back home to talk to Dad. I don't know about that... i just feel that if i give in to that which will mean I am submitting to him . Next thing you know that he will start flaring up for god knows what reason could be. My bro said since I have been working in Oz , he doesn't see me contributing money to the family.
See, money is a sensitive issue in the house. So I shall not talk about it too much.
As for my naive bro, he insisted (with dad's command) that I should be going home for Chinese New Year. My best friend 's wedding in June which I've decided to go back then. The thing is I am taking no pay leave. No work no pay. Each trip would have cost me like 1k+.Plus still gonna pay the rent here while I am away simply is not worth to go 2 times to Sg within 6 months.
I told my goot brudder about the situation.
How dare he replied like :" if you think you are suffering there just come back lor. I don't think you would pay my school fees anyway and I am mentally prepared."
What the fucking CB he is. *ucking arrogant dude. Supposed to give you money and study and now I would definitely think twice. KNNCCB. He sounded as if I don't need time to save money.

Nail spicule pic as promised

This long weekend holiday has been quite a fufilling one. Finally got to travel around New South Wales with my friend in crime, KH who arrived from SG last Friday. We did a day tour to Blue mountain and 3 sisters. At night time, we went clubbing at Side Bar which is just below the bagpackers. *ucking cheap the drinks. Pay 2 for 1 for any wine, beer or soft drink. Since I was out with a dude, chance of getting a guy to come up and talk to me was fairly slim. So I suggested that he can dress up as a girlie for once ;p

Weather is fantastic today. Slightly warmer than usual. Wanted to go for a swim but my skin has become extremely dry and sensitive recently. Think it could be the effect of taking roaccutane drug.

List of things which I wanna do:
1) Imax theatre
2) Book a hair appointment
3) Visit Koala Park

Don't why I feel so bored. Think I should start yoga lesson sometime soon.

Nail spicules

Don't know how on earth a person gets such such thick nails and I had such a hard time pulling those nails out today. "wow, that's a huge piece of nail coming off."Sadist me.Geez, I should have taken those pics of nail spicules! Damn..now I gotta wait for the next 'victim' to come along.

The other stuffs I always enjoy debriding neuropathic ulcers till they bleed and yet patients are still happily sitting on the chair due to lack of sensation on feet.

Got a mail from an ex-pt of mine from Perth saying that they are doing fine..bah bah. As you see, my car licence is registered with their home address. Because each state of Australia carries their own licence card, unless I decided to covert to New south wales, I just stick the one from Perth. Than again, I do not have a permanent home in Perth, so the follks were nice to help me out on that.

"Oz telecom sux" -that's tomorrow.

Car park fight

Ok, it's not really a fight. Rather while I was coming out of the parking slot, there was a car(the Magna) on my left signalling while waiting for me come out. The Nissan petrol on my right was waiting for me to get out of the slot obviously. The drama started once I get out of the slot, the Nissan went right into my slot. Leaving the poor Magna signalling and waiting for nothing. Magna was beeping loudly and I bet the driver in the car must be cursing and swearing at that Nissan driver for being stealing the lot.
So I did not witness any physical fight at all. Such a shame.HEE.

Go the Sydney Swans! Sigh* West Coast Eagles could have won by just another kick though.

CCB accountant (Beng-yish blog)

Feel like a chao ah huay today. The reason is because I am so piss with that KNNCCB accountant. I hope he better write a good piece of itemised details that has been charged on my fees. KNN tell me over the phone that:" I charged 150 an hour."
WTF? I've done most of the work, u made mistakes on my net income avenue, and bloody charge me like AU$1350. You mean you took 10 hours plus to do my tax return. I don't believe it. I'm paying you to check through my work and not the other way around. More importantly, I am *ucking piss that I could have end up paying more tax if I don't check it through.
Long term managment plan:

Complaint to be made to: (if the letter is not justisfied)
1) tax agent board
2) Insitute of Charactered Accountant
3) Office of fair trading

If he ever made me pay those fees, I would hope he will crush and burn into pieces.
He's not being honest with his fees in the first place when I asked for estimate quote. Please lor uncle, if you think u charge 150/hr , I would still go for your service? No you stupid moron.

Let's just say would you pay for a rotten orange for a high price?
He needs a lesson on customer service.

Rugby game finals is ON!

Ever since I come to Oz, I've developed a liking to watch the rugby game.YEAAAAH.
This Saturday,it's between the Sydney Swans and the team from my old home town (perth), West Coast Eagles.
Well, some people said rugby is like a game for animals only. Where got...there are soo many muscular yummy dudes tackling each other for the ball.

I started a new job today at a local hospital...will try to sneak a few pics up next week.

My Dr friend

There are probably hundreds of blogs out there written by various medical professionals. Very unfortunate on my pal, his blog was being discovered by one of his patients and thus, leading to an inquiry by the local health bureau.
That's not the point.
Firstly, what does the definition of blog means? In fact, it's pretty much up to a blogger to decide whether he or she wants is to be frictional with true or untrue substance in it. In other words, the contents in the blog may not be fully evidenced as to what is presented in real life. That's why disclaimers are used by some bloggers because you never know some ultra sensitive nut cases will take your entry for real.
Blog gives me the personal space I needed and to write whatever that's on my mind. I can't totally agree that it is 100% factual to what I've written. Therefore, as for my friend's case, working in a professional is hard enough, all he needs is some private space to vent out his frustrations (come on, we all get angry for a reason!??). Then again, his nutcase ex patient choses to admit that my friend was writing all about him. Seriously, there are probably millions of blogs around the world about bitching about friends, colleagues, systems, workforce......and the list goes on.

Such situations can be quite tacky to handle especially when healthcare regulations/ ethnics may be involved. Whatever it is, I believe the organisations should at least support the staff and try their best to resolve the matter in the most possible way. Sigh* Unfortunately, when customer service seems to be the top priorty, those local organisations would prefer to wipe the ass of nutcases than protecting the staffs.

Castles fantasy

I've never seen a castle in my life. Mainly from the pictures of travel books. The old heritage structure of the buildings fascinates me. Any movies (Lord of the ring, Troy) which involves the scenes on castles would definitely keep my eyes open. It would be lovely to have a wedding reception in a castle and doing the ballroom dancing with the beloved husband after that.I would have a diamond tiara on a 60s hairdo, wearing a white modern victoria era wedding gown (plus fake long eye lashes).

I am dreaming......

I cannot get pregnant because... ...

Day 1: Start of Roaccutane 10mg
Deadline: Till 16th Oct, dose will then increase to 20mg daily.

Seen a dermatologist yesterday and he diagnosed with me with cystic acne (most serious form). *sob* He added on that it was indeed very unfortunate. *holding back my tears*
Every 1 in 5 patients (particularly the females of course) asked me "what has happened to your face??"
Obviously it acne on my face *duh*. Can't be fungal right? If not I'll be scatching myself like a monkey.

**** ****
Most of my clients are elderly folks. There was this couple, in particular, came in one day where they have recently celebrate their 50th anniversary.

During treatment: (names have been changed)

ME:" Mr Barney, your skin on ya feet is really fragile or thin."

MRS Barney looks on hubby:" oh, that's why you can't take joke isn't it because you got such thin skin."

ME: *giggles softly*

MR Barney: *trying to stay cool and calm - or rather, ignoring his wifey's comment.

Feeling being inadequate

Job review

After working for a year in Australia, life may not looks greener here as compared to Singapore. Most people would think that I am having a fun time here working and playing. Not exactly true though. Firstly, I got a aussie permanent residency because I wanted to stay here and gained much experiences if possible from various health care settings. Most podiatrists are working as a sub contractor to the clinics which means pods will pay their own tax and superannuations. Therefore each time when I got my pay, I have to 'dump' some money to the taxation office. For instance, let's just say that I am earning $1800 per week, the taxation will absorb $580. Isn't that abit too much?? If you don't pay tax regularly, you will end up paying a lump sum at the end of financial year. My outgoing expenses are mainly involved the rent, flights, car insurance/petrol, assortment of bills, continuing education and family commitment.

In general,
whatever you earn = expenses spent = no gain of $ in your bank.

My 'little' bro is going uni next year and my dad apparently thinks I am rich working here.
So his tuition fees will be on me..no choice. *SOB* If only I open a clinic, that would be a different story.

Ever since coming to Sydney, I haven't even spend a single cent on facial and hair cut. I am beginning to feel real 'ugly'.

Getting into retailed mood

My 100 bucks+ for today go to:

Glasson glitter tops x2 = $15
Belt: $15
Scarf and bag= $12
Shoes = $35
Singlets= $19
Skirt for a friend=$10

It's just one of those days where you feel like spending money to be happy.
More retail tomorrow... ...
Checklist:
1) Long beaded necklaces
2) Tree of Life top
3) mini Cardi

Maybe yes, I am a shopaholic. Besides staying so far from the city, I really don't know where should I go or spend my weekends.
I cooked Madras curry chicken today because I've got so much free time to prepare and cook.
Hopefully, I'll be playing basketball next wed with my former patient and team.

*****
My bro asked me if I have prepared enough $ for his school fees next year. He was asking like 4k a semester. There are like 6 semesters in total.Sigh* Now I know why I can never feel rich in my bank.

Back from Christchurch, NZ

Went over to Christchurch last Wednesday for a mega foot conference. Picked up Marlene early morning at her place so that she can drive my car and sent me off to the airport. Sydney's traffic is shocking. Freaking cars everywhere on the road by the time it got to 7am. I can't afford to take a chance to book for a cab. Just in case I get to meet some kind of super lousy 'middle-eastern look' drivers who don't even know how to get to the airport at all. What's worst, that stupid dude charged me 100bucks for the cab fare *middle finger*.

Back on Christchurch, the whole place looks like a big English town. Most of the time I spent on walking everywhere there. I guess I found another place perfect for retirement ;p while the first choice would be still Perth. There wasn't many malls to go to (which is a good thing) and basically I would just venture in places like Botanic garden, Museum, arts centre, soveniur shops and a shop full of used clothings. Oh I bought quite a nice wool chequered skirt with pleats for only 14 bucks plus Made in Edinburg somemore.Sounds quite boring? Well, most of the nights I was resting early. No mates to go for a drink anyway ;( The hotel which I stayed at provides daily breakfast. The hosts are very lovely people. Even got me a bag of breakfast goodies just before I leave for an early flight at 6am the next day.

At the conference itself, the most appealing part would be the trade exhibition. All sorts of sports brands, medical suppliers, and shoes companies were there to present their lastest products. On the other hands, most delegates were whipping off many samples (like the foot creams/lotions) and shove it into their carriers as they browsed through those stalls. Hopefully in the next conference , there will be more case study presentations rather than research ones. At least abit of fair mixed, so that people like me who can never like research will not be having too many cups of coffees in order to stay awake throughout the whole talk.

*sigh* I am suffering from acne now. Quite demoralising. Even patients asked me what has happened to my face. I can't wait to see a dermatologist in 2 weeks' time. Apparenlty, I just got to know that manuka honey may help to deal with the problem.
