7th day of Lunar New Year

Work has been exceptionally busy till I hardly have any energy left to meet up with friends at knock off times. I need more time to allow myself to get accustomed to the busy (and sedentary) lifestyle for most Singaporeans. I've almost break the record of seeing the most paitents per day to the point that sometimes, I ended up reaching home at 7pm.
what's more, I've still left 2 boxes of nitty gritty stuffs to unpack.
Ke sian*

Chinese New Year Day 1

There was an overflow of relatives such that the chairs in my house were inadequate to cater their butts ;p There are quite a few new born nephews and nieces whom I've not met before.
Did I mention my dad has 13 siblings in total?

Chinese New year Day 2

Over and out to Johore to stay overnight at my granny's place. Found out I've got few more newborn nephews and nieces again. Brought some medical tools over and gave my granny a 'pedicure' with her callus debrided on 2nd toe as well. With her thickened nails, there's no way an ordinary clipper will do the job. Cousin D brought us to eat mee soto and prata leh. I like! Cheap and delicious.

My dad got into his menopause moods while we were on the way back from Malaysia. He got so fed up with my bro and I once he found we attempted to home some gums and DVDS.
So bo liao. -_-

***********************

Having to work for two weeks, there are a number of patients trying to give me ang pows. Gosh, it wasn't appropriate for me to accept it but as certain patients can be quite persistent with their givings. Of course, all these ang pows has to be sent and reported to the head in charge.

Suddenly, I craved for a bottle of Heneiken.

Cheena New year

I reckon my mom is going to suffer from anxiety attacks anytime soon on chinese new year preparations. Gosh! wish she can take things abit more relax. I can't think of anything else more to do but buying new year goodies and cleaning the house. This year is no exception that I'll be leaving for M'sia to visit my granny on the 2nd day of Lunar new year.

*Did I mention Barffie msg me on Vday? Really sweet of her ;)

** My dad said my watch was a piece of crap. He wondered what I've been doing with my earnings that I can't even afford a Rolex. Of course la DADDEE, I can buy 2 ROLEX(s) if I don't have to pay for my bro's fees. Grrrr, piss me off sometimes.
Now he wants me to get involved paying up for household utilities bills.

Post Vday

Early in the morning, my darling friend, Orleng, gave me a choc muffin and said "happy Valentine's , babe". The nurse assistant came in and passed me 2 packets of Indian koropok. Isn't it great to feel so loved without having a boyfriend?

Just when I thought I was going home after work, KW smsed me if I'm keen to go on a movie and dinner. Frankly speaking, that is quite unexpected with the reason being he already has a gf. Plus, he explained that they had celebrated Vday at a much earlier date. Okay.....

The most unexpected moment when he gave me a box of Guylian chocs. That's really thoughtful of him.
As I was getting quite tired after movie (yeah it's way too late for Ozzies - i mean semi Ozzie, whatever), I intended to go home till I gave a ring to KH. He 'insisted' that I come over to Bala pub with his friend for a drink. I agreed to drop by provided he gives me a ride home later.
Hehehe, so much for blackmailing. I've had a bottle of beer while 3 of us enjoyed give ratings to the babes around which wade me feel so lesbian for a moment.

I hope most readers did have a wonderful time on V day. Those who got bonked, I'll say good on you, mate.
If you didn't get a chance to do so, don't feel despair. Maybe on the next Vday and you never know. ;)

Getting organised

My bro gave me a lift for work today. Ok, I sorta 'force' him to do that ;p
Went to Human resource collected my staff pass and more papers to be signed. I'm just slowly taking time getting my clinic room to be more organised.Wish I'll have more time putting up the pics but the boxes in the living room must be cleared by the lunar new year.

Both of my parents headed off to JB to collect some fresh seafood from Dad's client early this morning. Since I'm early at the hospital, I get a chance to have a taste of kaya toast for my brekky. Yum yum! Now I'm loving my own little consult room which I 'm able to play my favourite Diana Krall's soundtrack.

****************
I got an email from Mr Irish. I don't know why I've still got a weebit of feelings for him. Maybe it's the respect that I get the most out of him as compared to the guys whom I went out with.
The way he wrote on his email is so plain but simple as usual.

Mr Banker msned me yesterday. Why is it such guys like him must keep talking about the important of (good) sex all the time? I don't get it. Not as if I am keen to fly over and give him a bonk. Feeling abit nauseous as I'm typing this out.
I do detest with certain people who think being a virgin must be superbly holy and traditional. It's a personal perference and one's own belief. People do not have to get so uptight finding girls- who- fastened- their chasity -belts in this era.

****************

I pestered my buddy,KH to come out on Vday to eat cockles with me. hurhur!

*screw v-day...

Beat the blues

Oz will always be my second home. I'm beginning to miss it already! So much stuffs and orientation have been going on for today.
From now onwards, I would need to be more cautious in terms of my writings. APP hospital will not like the idea if someone is blogging about something at the somewhere.
I have thought of shutting down this blog. Then again, I'll see how it goes.
Definitely looking forward the end of the month where my pay gets to roll into my bank account. Each time when I've paid up my bro's uni fees, it's like a cycle that I have to start saving up for the next fees due in 6 month's time.=_=

Home was alright. Dad still nagging on the way I drive like a kid playing Daytona. Mom (sigh) spoiled my Ninewest bag as she left the straps caught onto a cupboard's door. Was telling Shan that the straps looked abit wonky ;(
9 boxes arrived from Sydney few days ago which I'll probably spent the next few weekends arranging or unpacking items.

What's worst, I'm so pms+++ now. *ROAR*

Little voice

As much as I would love to help people with my 'ever' graciousness and generosity, I would not tolerate people who would take my advantage of my kindness. Potraying a black face is all I need(can) to do. There are a lot of lessons to be learnt in life, in fact, endless! I suppose all of us has to go through it in terms of whether ups or downs. I should have been more firm in the first place with him. He should have learnt that it is wrong to use someone's property without that person's permisson. He could be desperate to use it at that moment but still, it's about being moral. He may see it no harm but action does speaks for itself.

Eg, If a patient has paid for a Grade A antibiotics, you 've prescribed Grade B medicine and tell him it's Grade A. No doubt both grades work effectively.

**********

I was quite pissed that I had to pay something upfront depsite the fact he could have paid for his own share. Maybe he didn't hear what the waitress was saying if we are going dutch or paying together. He KNOWS he has to pay for his own coz we stated quite clearly before hand. On the other contrary, I could not help to think that if he's trying to rip me off in every possible ways.
It's not an issue to pay for anyone as long as the person appreciates it. I know I'll have the capability to earn the money back anyway.

Fudge!

The office of fair trading still hasn't returned the housing bond (AUD:$700) to me until I gave them a call again. By right the housing bond should have been retured within 48hours after application's being submitted.wtf that I've been waiting for 2 weeks!First, they screwed up my banking details. Next, they promised to send me a cheque which I'll get to receive on the next 3-5 days. Cb, still see no cheque. On the 3rd call, again they reassured that the cheque will be sent off asap.
*ROaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*
For sure I can make use of that money on my trip back to Singapore.

****************

BG, who is new to Perth, is going to start his medical studies in UWA. He agreed to be my designated driver while showing him new places to go at the same time. As for today, we are going to visit the hair salon together.YAY* I've been waiting for this moment to come. My fringe is literally covering my eyes unless I gave it a scrunch ;p
After haircut, hopefully I can chill out at his place and play a few rounds of pool. Cooky ,which (a Maltese) belongs to his landlord, is such a cute doggie! I wanna kidnap that caramelled fur coat doggie back to Sg !

4 days more to Sg.............so fast!!!!

Angry blog

I can't understand why certain insitutions just make life more difficult for me.
Firstly, it's JJ superannuation fund. I rang them twice and they kept on saying they will send the forms to me which I could roll over my superfunds into another bank.
Cb........still see nowehere of the forms.

Next, I wanted to open a bank account in CC bank. It's a special account that the lady staff explained that she can't give me much info except to read the booklet as provided. Saying what she is not trained to give any info on that particular bank account. Never mind, I brought the booklet back and analyse myself.
Following day, I went back to CC bank again. The dark-looking staff insisted to have my passport as my ID.
Cb lah....I've already produce my driver's licence, medicare card, credit card with photo on it.
Apparently I've still not reach the 100 points id check requirement.
*black face with a pout*

ooooo, gtg to catch a bus to city now...

More of Mr Banker

He messaged me on MSN after my arrival in Perth. I ignored it while thinking of the 'nasty things' he once said to me. Following few days later, he sent to me another message indicating " I know you hate me but I do miss you".
So I went on asking why he did said all those not-so-nice things to me in the first place and expecting me to talk to him again??
He apologised profusely as he wasn't expecting me to be so cut up in the conversation in the first place. What the? Of course I'll be pissed and who he thinks I am to be that submissive little lady. Ptoooi!

I tried to be nice but if someone who pushes my limit I'll definitely have the urge of stabbing that person with my size 10 scalpel.

"It's the past, forget it." Afterall, da1 ren2 you3 da4 liang4. Why should I let this prick to 'mess' up my mind.

At last, we have some decent normal conversations. He asked if I wanted just to be friends or more. I asked him in return " are you looking for something more than?". He replied:" hopefully".
-_- eeeee

Firstly, he doesn't really know me. Secondly, we are going to be miles apart and how is this going to work out in the first place. This is not being realistic at all. Thirdly, I'll be starting my new job which definitely takes up 3/4 of the day. I don't expect to be knock off on time subjecting the number of patients I got to see.

Like what DDU has said, he's just being desperate ;p

This is a message to all potential Mr Dates:
I work in a healthcare area where the patient loading is high and demanding. Don't expect me to turn up your date on time. Of course I will be responsible enough to let you know that if I am going to be late via call or sms. All I'm asking is your understanding.
Thinking of the rat race in Sg makes me sick to think of it sometimes.

Tuesday

It's nearly half the price that I have to pay for a movie which happens on every Tuesday. Right now I'm just waiting for D to get home in an hour's time so we can catch a movie together later this evening.

In fact, I've just came back from Joe's Shack, a seafood place down in Fremantle. Cara, a fellow Aussie pod, ordered a large bowl of succulent chilli mussels plus a main of caesar salad. The weather was simply fantastic with a temperature of 27 degrees celsius. We had a good catch up on her trip to America , England and on how she survived the locum work with NHS and dodgy housemates..etc.. Trust me, dodgy housemates can give you the worst nightmares that you never expected. Me, being the moving guru, knows it all the dirty tricks from such peeps. That's why I always had my fingers crossed if I'm gonna move into a new place.

**************
It would be my first time celebrating Chinese New year after 7 years in Oz. Some of the girls that I know had already made their manicure/pedicure/hair salon appointments. Aiyo,I wonder why should someone going through all the trouble dolling up just for the lunar new year. I mean not unless one is attending a big hollywood or Oscar party. Maybe I'm just not feminine enough. Even going to Orchard Road, my gfs need to dress up to the nine. Singapore's such a humid place and putting on a pair of jeans can be such a pain for me.
My mom can't even stand me wearing a pair of Havanias red thongs (read:slippers) wherever I go. She felt I should wear something at least more presentable. *eyes roll up*

*************
The boxes which I've sent from Sydney to Singapore have arrived! My dad rang me up and said he is going to pick it up together with my bro. Yipppeeeeeeeeeeee. Means that I can escape paying the depot taxes. *WIDE GRIN*

*************

I've been thinking that it's about time to upgrade myself in terms of continuing education. Well, at least not until my bro has finished his studies in 2 years time plus the amount of 'debt' I've to support him through.
It's just a thought ;)

HOT lah!

The climate in Perth has been absolutely heated up to the max.No less than 35 degrees celsius for the last few days at least. *feeling faint* I think I've spent more money buying bottled water than anything else whenever I'm out. I was even thinking of just putting my bathers on at home. Since I'm staying with my gf and family, it wouldn't be so nice afterall ;p

For the past one week in Perth, I've been roaming around Perth city, Subiaco, Bursewood and not forgetting Freo. For one thing which I'm sure of is that I can't leave Freo without getting a Gingerbread man. Caught the fireworks on Aussie Day at the foreshore. Had stonegrill dinner at Mt Lawly with D and Gris. Had a mini girly chillout on Saturday night watching like 12 Jay Chow's MTV. Got a few dresses at Kookai from Garden City.Wheee!! Caught the Epic
Movie at Carousel which was kinda entertaining and silly.

Moving on to the 2nd week in WA, I'll probably spend more time catching up with Ann, Beni, and Cara. My previous workplace has given me a 45-dollar Borders voucher which means......
More books = heavier lugguage ;(

Rang up the tenant board in Sydney earlier. They've accidentally put in bond money into someone's else account. So lousy adminstration. *pissing off look*

I've got so many picccccccccs to put up!

****************************************

Bonous entry:

Since I'm waiting for my car to arrive from Sydney, I have to take a public transport wherever I go. Every frigging bus driver kept on asking me if I've got a concession ticket which no doubt I've already specified I just want a standard tix.

I can be forever young leh.

Heh!heh !heh!

Post from Western Australia

OOOO what a feeling! It's nice to be back to Perth where I can get the chance to meet up my friends. D picked me up from the airport and we headed off to the city to have a nice Korean lunchie. For dinner, since's it B's (D's sister) birthday, we had a 7- course chinese dinner together. It's been so long I had a real decent chinese meal. YUM YUM YUM.

3 weeks of good O' holiday in Perth before I start the rat race in Singapore. One thing for sure is that I'm gonna missed the short working hours in Oz.I'll miss the time I can get to read a book while waiting in between patients and get paid at the same time. I'll miss the roadtrips and beaches. And those long holiday breaks!!! I think I've only work 10months or less for last year.

Meet up with Dan for the last 2 days. He's one of my besties that I've ever got. Since he knows I've got a tight-ass (budget), he got me 2 Esprit tops and 1 Witchery belt. It is just one of those things that you don't mind spending on for a good friend. Same goes for me as well. I'm happy to get a little pressie for his mom's birthday and buy him dinner etc...I must say that to most people often see it there's something going on once a female get along well with a dude.
I can count at least half of my 10 fingers that I've been besties with some dudes for over 10 years. AP , the male colleague whom I've worked with in Sydney, offered me accomodation on my final overnight stay with his family. His dad even cooked a large brekky early in the morning so I could have it before my flight to Perth at 8am. In return, I got them a bottle of Savignon as a token of appreciation. It's all these wonderful things/favours that people do for each other which make life a lot easier. Unlike my ex -boss in Sydney, he often choses to help me but expect me to return a favour to him. *stab stab stab*

Farewell Sydney

2 more days to go. I've decided to call it quits in Sydney. Embarking on another different kind of journey facing with new challenges ahead. Last weekend, my time has been spent on visiting various touristy places such as Powerhouse museum, National State Library, Darling habour, Hard rock cafe, Paddington till I developed an extreme pain on my peroneals and cuboid region from excessive walking perhaps.
Had an xray done and I'm convinced that I've got some soft tissue issue.

Had an interesting day at the hospital. All new medical interns are welcome to attend the allied health exhibitions. Set up a min osce test for the new grad Drs and for each correct answer, they are allowed to collect a docket to indicate they have visited the 'stalls'.
Today is the last day that I get to work with my favourite partner in crime, Mr French. He gave me a peck and a big teddy bear hug to wish me luck and goodbye. So touched ;(
Tess's gonna give me a lift home after work tomorrow as my car will be transferred to Perth via rail. Rachel has been bugging me to visit her at Bathurst. Guess I must have disappoint her again.
The whole department is gonna have pizza (without beer) for lunch as part of my farewell lunchie.

Next blog will be from Perth.

Lady Musgrave Island

DDU and myself booked a day trip to LMI. Since it will take us 2 hours of drive from Rockhampton to the Town of 1770, we were on the road slightly before 6am. Town of 1770 is the place where Captain James Cook has set his foot down.
By the time we reached the ferry port in Town of 1770, a large number of tourists were already there. We were warned of the massive swells in the sea and been advised to take some 'Travelcalm' to prevent seasickness. In the end, we popped some ginger pills and keeping our fingers crossed that we don't puke during the 2- hour rocky sea ride.
Gosh, the whole frigging ferry ride wasn't pleasant at all. Quite a number of people started renching and vomitting. One of the passengers got so sick that she has to be put on oxygen.

Once we arrived to the destination, the tour was split into 3 groups. We were in the first so we get to sit on a small boat to LMI. The island is formed as part of Great Barrier reef and also considered as a marine park. Campers are allowed on site with a daily fee of $9 AUD. The amazing thing about this island is the wildlife , which are mainly the birds and turtles, are protected. No reptiles are sighted.
Read on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Musgrave_Island

I had so much fun snorkelling and checking out those big fishes! I wanna grab one of them and barbi-ed it.

Bonous entry: This guy sux

I'm not meeting Mr Banker afterall. During our MSN chat, he strongly felt that I should have tough up my stay in Sydney. Even though I've explained to him that my social life is diminishing rapidly throughout my stay in Syd, he gave an example how he stayed in Canberra for 5 years without friends. See, my logic is I'm that kind of person who needs a balance in life.

Career+social life = happy lady

Career + (-0) social life = grumpy lady

Bad Career + good social life = unhappy lady

Weird thing is he messaged me on xmas, new year and once he arrived back from KL. Quite persistent as he seems to be. At this point, I was thinking it could be worthwhile to keep some friendship before I leave for good. He went on rattling how bad the Singaporeans guys are. In general,99% of sg guys are nice to girls for a reason -> sex. He's like brainwashing me how bad it is to go back to work in Sg. So discouraging instead of giving me some motivation.

OK, enough of such ass****.

I am thankful that I've got fabulous friends who supported my decision and looking forward upon my return.Feeling bless indeed. And also friends who listen and take an interest of what I've got to say when I'm feeling in doubt.

Come away with me

Prior leaving for North Queenland, A rang and asked if I wanted to check out central coast of New South Wales. I happily agreed on the roadtrip as planned. Took us about one and a half hour drive where we get to meet another of A's friend, Sue.
Sue works as a pod fo 4 years in the town of Terrigal. She's earning so well that she's planning to go shopping for a brand new 4WD and trading off her Renault. Geez, I wanna work in Terrigal tooooooo. Our day was spent on beaches, sunshine, fish and chips. More info:

Have you ever seen a house on the move? I mean the whole godfather house being moved from one spot to another. This is actually quite a common sight up in Queensland country town.

Ooooo the trailer is making its way very slowly on the roundabout

While sitting in DDU's Rover, I quickly grabbed my digi cam and took a snap of the house moving on a trailer. Very happening......

It's official

My savings is 4k poorer.

No leh, I don't invest or play with shares.

*****************

Today there was this 'strange' lady who came in telling me how pretty I am and why is it I've got no boyfriend. I find it 'strange' too when people asked me such questions. The fact is how I am suppose to know the answer in the first place?? Then she proceeded on asking me if I am wearing stockings. With politeness, I replied 'no' and explained that I've just been to Queensland where I got my tanned skin from.

The best part was she commented if my dad was English coz I appeared to look abit of 'mix' to her.
At this point, I just couldn't stop grinning... ...

Post from North Queensland (Love and Dates)

Here I am entering this entry using DDU's lappie. I have not felt so relaxing as compared to my busy life in Sydney(ok, can't be compared to rat race in Sg). Right now my life encompasses sleeping in, playing with DDU's dogs, exercise, eat, surfing and shopping. This Saturday, the girls are going on a trip to Lady Musgrave island where we'll spend our time on snorkelling and buffet-ing.Prior to that, we need to take a 2-hr drive down to the port for ferry boarding.

Dad called me up *again. I can tell he's so keen for me to get back home asap. On the other hand, he's bugging me to buck up my social life.*shrugs* So I told him I may be going on a date with a banker. Dad gave Mr Banker a big cross after grilling me with questions. I would like to remind the readers that I don't blame my dad for who he is. Every parent has the right to be concerned of their children in terms of safety sake. Maybe I'm just a daddy's girl and no doubt I don't really fancy to be one.

I came up with a draft on my Dad's Mr Right checklist for his daughter:

Mr Right: Straight
Race: Chinese
Educational qualification: University and above
Jobs:Medical line, teaching, interior designers (he thinks bankers are too poor and just the job title that sounds promising only)
Must have: integrity, self respect, generous, smart, hardworking, no need to be too handsome
Potentials: Wentworth Miller, Ryan Gosling, not-so-overly extreme toots and nerds are all welcome.

Can anyone be kind enough to introduce any eligible dudes to save me from bouts of naggings and headaches? *kiddin*

***************************
I got to know a friend who is going out with this Mr Medical at the moment. What I dislike is how he actually sms her out for a date. I mean , is this for real? Or doesn't he has the guts to even make a call. Yes, we all know Mr Medical can get so uptight with his work and patients. Just a 10 seconds call is probably not worth to spend on your favourite girl uh. Hmph, Big 'L' to him.

***************************

Note: I'm actually in love with Wikipedia already.....

Pack and Wrap

For the past few days, I've been clearing my junks and sort out all my stuffs in each individual boxes. I feel faint....in fact any moment from now. I hate to decide on the stuffs whether I should be chucking them away or pack it up for future use. Quite a pain on my butt , seriously mate.
Thanks to DDU for introducing me to this website called Freecycle Sydney. This is the place where the junks can be given away to online users for free. Instead of putting up on ebay, I've planned to give away my Ikea study lamp, telephone, telephone wires/adaptors, speakers ..etc.
Feeling all the stress mounted on top of my head, a bottle of chilled Stella Artois has made me a more relaxed person.
I've told my landlord that I'll be leaving soon. She was kind of upset to lose a good tenant -ya, that's me.

***************

K called me up and invited me to have lambshanks for dinner on Boxing day. I asked would I be interferring her dinneer with her hubby, her brother and gf. It's so odd to be like the largest 'light bulb' in between them. After rounds of reassurance, I agreed to go ahead with the invitation. Brought a bottle of sparking wine that leftme frigging headache the next morning. The dinner was nice and cosy.We chatted a lot on childhood sweethearts, parenting matters, jobs, and agriculture. K is an absolute fanatic about native plants. All of us went around her garden while she gave a briefing on her darling trees and flowers. It sux the thought of not having a date to accompany me. Thank goodness I had a Alaskan Mallamut who was supposedly to be my date. (kiddin' ya). That is K's doggie.

***************

I'm off to central coast of Sydney tomorrow. A was nice to take me on a trip to visit his friend there. He said we'll be having a swim at the beach or picnic. And on Saturday, I'll be taking off to North Queensland to visit Eviltooth. Wheeeeeee! Life is good to me ;)

Nowell Nowell

The only Christmas thing that I would look forward is to attend the midnight mass. St Bernedett's Church will always remain in my memory of the lonely Christmas seasons that I've spent in Sydney. No petrol stations and no mackers are opened on Christmas day.
Good for laundry day with gusty wind and plently of sunshine.

In fact the whole morning and afternoon, I've spent on packing and taping and MORE packing!! During the packing ordeal, I was confident to say that I've made the right choice on relocation. I also forsee that I just couldn't handle the pressure with moving .Maybe if I were a guy, it would have been different story altogether. Based on my calculations, I've moved at least 7 different houses in between Perth and Sydney. Geez, does anyone can understand the hassel of moving house at all?

THANK YOU.

my beloved friends

For making those overseas sms christmas greetings from Malaysia, Singapore, Perth. I feel so loooooooved!!! I've even received one sms from my long time nursing pal whom I've hardly talk to her for the last 7 years. That's certainly such a pleasant surprise ;)

Oh my hairdresser gave me a ceramic (spell?) hair straightner as a Chrissy pressie!! See, you don't have to be a celebrity to get the endorsement deals.hurhurhur.

It wouldn't be too long.....

Who's that cow

My bro has passed his exams and moving on to the 2nd year in SIM. Me, being labelled as the 'rich cow' in family, will be paying his next semester uni fees on the upcoming month.
Somehow or rather, it brought my mind to think that what would happen if I'll be the one paying for my child's university fees.
What sort of expectations that I would have on my child then? If he or she is unable to excel in his studies, will I still give him/her a chance to repeat with another cost added?
My dad brought us up in the family tradition that everyone should help one another out in regardless of anything -whether you like it or not. My dad has helped me on my education and now it's my turn on my bro's. I don't mean to put it this way but with those amount of 'kaching', I've realised I could have got myself on a house deposit.
To think on a more positive mode, at least I know I have the capability to do that.
If I ever become a spinster, I would insist that my brudder will be paying off for my retirement village unit.(u fugging hear me)
For additional info, a retirement village is like a small 2 bedroom (or even 1) self contained unit with facilities such as communal reading lounge, pool, recreation room, visiting Drs etc....
All facilities will be well taken care of and I wouldn't resist if I get a chance to perv on a cute hunky gardener. ho ho ho.

'Disheartening' Pre-xmas post

I'll be looking forward to attend the midnight mass on this coming Sunday. My boring Chrissy shall remain the same as last year's. Pretty uneventful which I would think. *sigh*
One of my fellow colleagues probably will experience the worst Xmas season when she was recently being informed that her best friends (who is a couple) are killed in an accident in Africa. Those friends of hers whom she would chose to take her timeout for travelling moments together. I've packed a little goody chrissy pack to cheer her up abit.
Back to my Xmas day, I've planned to do some packing and have a couple of beers. Tis the season to be jolly afterall.

*******
A asked me out to watch a scary movie called THE DESCENT last night. I agreed since it's Tuesday. In Oz, Tuesdays will be cheapest rate to pay for a movie. My friend called it the 'tight-arse Tuesday'. One would pay almost doubled the price on movies being watched on other days of the week. Knn, I was just freaking out throughout the whole movie. What's worst, I can't bloody sleep well at night which the horrific scenes kept on repeating on my mind. However, SAW 2 is another show which I'll never ever watch by myself again.

Tomorrow will be my last day at work in 2006. (hip- a -hip horray!)

My patient gave me some handmade soaps as a Xmas gift :)

Happy walking

As the feet department works under the same roof as the dieticians, WE started forming out very own walking group on (almost) every Monday afternoon subjecting on weather conditions.
The walking distance is roughly about 800m with steep slopes off and on. As for today, me and 3 other 'ang mohs' walked up to the local mall to have our lunch. While we were walking and chatting at the same time, they were saying how nice is it to be like me - being able to eat heaps and 'figure' remains unchanged.
I've explained that it's all due to my zero social life level. Less friends means less hang outs means less eating out means spend more time to workout.
When I was back in Singapore, my waist seems to be expanding every friggin day. By the end of 2nd week stay in Sg, my skirt is kinda tight to zip up.

My rules of engagement on keeping fit:

* EXERCISE - whether you like it or not
* DIET - eat good meals with proportions. Don't get understarved or over-starved on a meal.
* WATER - is still the best drink on earth( but I like Coke Zero more.)
* SLEEP - helps in rejuvation and maintain its mental well-being. Geez, I'll get cranky if I don't have enough hours of sleep. That's probably why I hardly burn midnight oil throughout my uni days.
* Occasional indulgence - It's OK once in a while but it's certainly not a sin. I've got this girlfriend who once ordered a bowl of fish ball noodles requesting only half a portion. She felt the need to compromise the calories from the choc which she ate few hours ago. Totally insane. *eyes roll up*

Getting into the Chrissy mood

Come and meet Mr Frosty!

This year, the staffs decided to have the Xmas luncheon at this beautiful natural santuary place called Eden Gardens

Judging by the number of crowds, one can tell how fantastic the place is

On the same week, I was invited by my previous workplace to another Xmas dinner.

This time round it was held at a pub called THE BLUE GUM.

ta daaaaa

I wanted to order Rosemary lamb shanks with potato gravy. The pub ran out of it. So I chose to have scorch fillet.I wondered why I ordered that since I'm not really a fan of steak.

Pressiessssss

Presents and cards to be sent all over the world. Christmas is the season for giving. Send a card to your long lost friend! At least it goes to show that you DO care and thinking of that person on this special festive occasion.

Diggin' into weekend

Tis good is Friday. Had a X'mas dinner with the colleagues from previous foot clinic. The only difference of having an Aussie Xmas gathering means each of them has to pay for their own meals and drinks. This is a common culture for small business groups. Unless if one works in a big multi firms, THEN the company may pay for your party. Anyhow, I was quite bored over there really. It's like having a meal with a bunch of people who are much older than my parents.

*******************************

Bonous entry:

I'm not sure what's the best way to put it. I feel that I may or may be in near future facing communication breakdowns once I get back to Sg for good.
People aren't tune into saying nice things unless it's for a reason. Don't know how to explain it. I'm sorta stuck right now. Basically, when the local folks say something especially when they are in a angry phase, they cannot calm down and say in proper, nice sentences without offending the opposite party.
For instance,
Angry peep:" I was shocked that why my pay has got deducted for no reason?"
Instead, why not try saying like " Can you please help me check on my pay which has been paid lesser than the usual?"

On the contrary, I think there are a lot of angry people in Singapore. To be more specific, a large population of angry people that I've encountered with has an underlying psychiatric disease.
Pardon me if I'm wrong to say that.

Humanpapillo drama

I think I may have a wart on my left heel.Lateral compression of the wart produces pain. Obviously it's a WART lor.
The defined pin- prick size with one black pinpoint in the centre is how I would describe it. I debrided it till it bleed.Added a stick of silver nitrate and now it has become a black 10cent size spot on it. Knn. I hate warts to the max. Sian halved. I'm going to further debride it this coming Fri.

on my way to work on a winter morning
Still not quite summer
Sydney's weather has been acting kinda strange. Well, we are well into the summer but the temperature is still hitting below 30 deg celsius. I'm getting frustrated to think what should I be wearing for the day. I hate wearing too little if the cold front is up. I hate over- layering if the weather gets too hot by midday. Last night, it got so cold in the middle of the night that I was so tempted to pull out my doona.

I've started wrapping up the Xmas presents! ;)

Flowers

My auntie's shop in Eastpoint

My beloved cousin who cannot even recognised me when I was there. So lousy ;p.Mom's in the background.

*******************************************

Speaking about flowers, I've never received any of it from any dudes (include my ex-bf) or in my whole entire life. Ex-bf thought it's such a waste of money. To him (boring!), maybe. To me, it's another story. Sometimes a bunch of flowers can simply brighten up someone's day. May it be a stalk or a bunch. Whatever it is, the giver just wants to see the smile on that someone's face upon receiving it. Such guy who cannot understand this theory should be booted out of the (my, at least) relationship.

Yeeehaa!kick kick kick!

Something sweet to think about......

When I was locuming at a hospital, my partner- in-crime bought me sticks of carrot cake for breakfast from the Bedok market. It goes to show that no matter how shitty your day can be, there is always someone do care about you :)
When I'm busy with overloading of patients, she would buy me Milo from the vending machine. Overall, it is rather important to build up a strong cohesive working enviroment among members of workplace. Or else, one can be counting the minutes miserably once the day gets started.

Karaoke

My friend told me that she is going K-box at Parkway with a bunch of Drs. Kindly sponsored by the drug rep though. Nowadays the business tactics have sure changed. Not only giving out freebies, the drug rep has to socialise, give treats, and now sing song with clients is included.
I reckon the life as a drug rep is probably getting more busier than before. tsk tsk, those poor lads...

I miss singing karoke lor......

Ho ho ho! HO!

Having students around are a great way of building up my patience. I got a first year student with his first time hands on in the hospital today. Blurr as a sotong as he is, I think I may have overwhlemed him with lots of information or procedures. With a time constraint limited per patient, he hasn't got a choice but to learn it fast. *too bad lor
After all, when I was a student during a placement, no one tells me what to do , what to take, how to do it...etc. A lot of the time I've learnt things through my observations.
On a happier note, one of my patients just gave me a box of Lindt chocs for xmas!

"Tis the season to be jolly with more and more pressies flala lalala lalala. "

Sux to the pedestrian

I was driving towards the exit of an underground parking in a large shopping mall. As I maintained at a driving speed of less than 10km/hr, there was this whole family of 5 standing at the zebra crossing. Instead of focusing on crossing the road safely, the fatty bombastic daddy was chit -chatting with his sons. At this point of time, I was wondering are they interested to cross the road or not. Knn, wanna chat then chat somewhere else la. Don't make me hog the traffic for nothing. So when I tried to press my acceleration pedal again, the fatty bombom started to cross the road very ( he might be thinking he is a plus -sized model on a runway) slowly and pointed fingers at me for not stopping.
I wish I could break his fingers and stuff it up into his a**.

Whatevar.....

Buck up BUCK UP!

I did something kinda extreme while I was in Singapore. I classified extreme 'something that I've never dreamt of doing it...EVER'.

J rang me up at 4 yish in the wee hour morning to go for a run in East Coast Park. I sounded 'sian sian ' and agreed. Omg, what was I thinking at that time man?!.....Morever, I had to get up as early as 6am to be prepared as J 's sister's bridemaid on that day itself leh!!

I was surprised to see some of the pubs at ECP are still opened like 5+ in the morning?? Wah, singaporeans no need to oror is it??
What's more to my astonishment, there are quite a number of people jogging or rollerblading on an early Saturday morning.
After 45minutes of running, I can feel my thighs muscles are getting sore but tone.
Maybe that could be the answer to 'goodbye cellulite'.

************************

I got so much junks accumulated for the past 6 years of stay in oz. I've checked out with my local council for a possible' pasar malam' location. If the weather forecast shows that it doesn't rain on next Saturday, I've planned to set up a stall and 'leylong' my stuffs range from screwdrivers, pre-loved clothings, bags, photo frames, CDs to bric -a -bracs. I'm so excited to be the next pasar malam entrepreneur.
hurhur!

Day 'tour'

Since I've managed to secure a job back in my motherland, I was asked to do a pre-medical checkup prior the work commencement date. To elaborate further, the HR could only confirmed the work offer last Friday and I'm leaving to oz..like.....tomorrow! That leave me for just TODAY to do all sorts of pre-check requisit.

The day began with breakfast in Geylang. I managed to eat roti prata (again!) and a plate fried carrot cake. Feeling satisfied. My dad dropped me off to Bedok to have my health check. Once I got there, the nurse said I got to have my xray done at East Shore Hospital since the clinic hasn't got the radiology department set up. Win lor. After taking my height and weight (SHEESH my weight seems to increase everyday ever since I've been here), I waited for my turn to see the GP.
What a small world. The GP was someone whom i've worked with when she was only a houseman. We went on rattling for a while and she asked if we could have lunch when I'm back for good. Come to think of it, when we first worked together was like almost 7 years ago. The more amazing thing is she could still remember which ward I've worked in. Very impressive indeed. I reckon she could be sending more 'chao kah' (smelly feet) cases to the hosp when I'm back.
Next, I took a cab to East Shore and have my chest xray done. Afterwards, I have to go somewhere in the East to have acupucture for my stiff neck. (yes it works wonderfully well. At least, better than the physio I must say).
By the late afternoon, I managed to squeese abit of time for shopping at chinatown.

WO HAO LEI uh!!!

Asian family values

My friend's mom was rather disappointed because my friend (M) didn't contribute any family allowances. Despite the fact the parents has provided her with an overseas education and paid upfront for her car, M seems doesn't bothered about giving a single cent for family.
M's sis is starting her part time university studies next year and would plan to save up as much as she could in order to complete her uni.She knows that she can't rely on M at all.

This is a typical Asian family culture. When we grow up, it is only normal that we would takeover our family needs.
Just like my bro, I got to pay up his full time uni education on a yearly basis. Since he is leaving for Oz for a road trip, I have to fork out at least a few hundreds of aussie dollah for him to spend. All this is done under the command of my Dad whereby I don't have a second say.
If not he'll just blame it on his wrong decision to send me overseas study and now he is getting back such a lousy daughter who can't even help....

I need a rich man to marry off......

Oh I see...

Today I've learnt about something that described the character of an undesirable female client.

FONB = Full of nonsense 'beech'.

At least, I've been warned by the staffs before I see tat 'beech'. However, she made a hell out of my life that I ended having only 1/2 hr lunch break. ;(

***************************

*DDU: I'm gonna ring your auntie later tomorrow.

***************************

My parents just 'celebrated' their 32nd anniversay today.
But my dad so unlomatik one... tsk tsk* No flowers no surprises.

Wo Hao Xiang Shui Jiao

Si Bei tired ok!? I reached JB yesterday about 12mn. And again, my mom started poking my butt to wake me up for exercise. Today, I no exercise. Most likely, I'll do my run tomorrow.
I've been eating just too much for the past weekend.
Had 2 cups of 50cent vending machine kopi ( I love it) to keep myself awake.
As I am typing this blog, I feel so nua........

Changes

I went to Brewerkz yesterday for the very first time. Had 3 mugs of Golden Ale with a main course. *burp* She showed me around Clark Quay *Crikey* It has changed so much! All the clubs n eating places are so modernised and well-furnished. Very hippee indeed. However, my nursing pal was telling me that from Mon -Thurs, the quay can be quite dead.Of course, when it was time to go home, there are zero cabs at 11pm. Neber mind.
From my memory, I can recall Bus 51 does go to my place. But I was unsure whereabouts to get down my place....Am I sounding too sua gu here?
I was kinda tired....on the other hand, trying to pinch myself to stay awake just in case I've missed my bus stop.
Oh, did I mention that this is my first time taking a train to Clark Quay! How easy is that?

************
Nowadays I am so tired to go out after office hours. Is there any sumthing wrong with me???
On the lighter note, I;m going Raffles Town club later to have a mega buffet with another family friend and her daughter who is also a MO.
I hope I don't over-yak coz apparently I heard she's on the.....err.....more quiet side.

*evil laughs*

No housework

The perks of not living independently is to be freed from housemaid chores.

*********
One of the nurses told me that a few of the deceased patients asked about me occasionally after I left the workplace. That was really nice of them. And today, this regular patient was telling me how his foot got worsen with his bad circulation.
Here it how it goes like:
" eh I think I saw you long time ago ( approx like more than 6 months ago?) for my problem with my 2 toes. Now no more toes already but I worried about my heel. So gek sim"

It's amazing how patients do posses super megabyte memory hor. Don't play play.

*********

This chubby meesee (nurse) was commenting that I looked like a 'ang kong kia'. What I assume from her words that I look like a 'plastic doll'?? heh heh heh

********

What's wrong with all these people keep on changing appointments with me? hmph* Why all Singa (that's how my aussie friend calls my country) people are so super busy?

Good day in Singapore!

Here I am typing this entry in this room where the sun doesn't shine (just like what Shan said about her lab all the time).
It's good to be back and ate black pepper crab after my arrival. (ok, DDU, this is for your info) ;p

Ooo, lunch time. Think I wanna check out the ba chor mee (spell?) later.

** my html is screwed. Can anyone out there to help me out? :(

I am in a mutherfrigging mood

My ex boss hasn't pay up for my last week of work. I emailed him and he claimed that I got several insoles reviews. And my pay will be released in awaiting of these reviews within 3 weeks.*hello, how many patients I would know will come in for review. In fact, the patients may or may not come in even. In addition, he will let me know the latest outstanding pay by next week.
Firstly, whatever reviews that are totally none of my business. My services had been rendered and terminated on the date stated via the letter.
As far as to my knowledge, all employees are being paid weekly.
If there's any other outstanding pay to be made later, he should at least have the basic courtesy to clarify on that.

Thank goodness I've stopped working for such asshol*. Such lousee boss deserve a kick into his brains or something.

How hilarious

A while ago, I was chatting with this long time dude from Singapore on MSN. Along the conversation, I realised that I simply can't reconnect with the local dudes. Not saying that I'm pretending to be a true blue 'ang moh', it just doesn't feel as 'normal'.

Just a sad note

I'll not be seeing my patients anymore.....................even though some expected me to bring photos once I'm back from my holidays.

However, that's not gonna happen anymore.
